CNN's Donna Brazile Tears GOP Strategist Alex Castellanos a New One
Just when all confidence in the mainstream media to be committed to reporting the news instead of spinning the news was about to dissipate, Donna Brazile once again
stepped up and said stop the bull crap. Tonight as GOP strategist Alex
Castellanos, in an obvious attempt to cast dispersion upon Barack
Obama, invoked the names of William Ayers and Jeremiah Wright
completely out of context, Donna Brazile forcefully stepped in and tore
Alex a new one.
Donna also took CNN host, Campbell Brown, Paul Begala and Lanny Davis to task. Campbell tried to imply that the only reason Brazile was being so forceful was because Brazile was supporting Obama, but Brazile held her ground. Brazile also neutralized attempts by Clinton supporters Begala and Davis to spin distortions. Begala and Davis were at a lost for words.
Finally with Wolf Blitzer nervously anticipating Obama overtaking Clinton in Indiana, the next sour grapes came from Mayor Tom McDermott of Hammond, Indiana, a Clinton supporter. McDermott implied that Mayor Rudy Clay of Gary, Indiana, an Obama supporter, was engaged in hanky panky because the vote from Lake County was slow in being reported. It appeared that McDermott's real motivation was to spin a story about Hillary Clinton winning Indiana, which McDermott did in an awkward manner once the votes came in. I think Mayor McDermott owes Mayor Clay an apology. What a clad!
Once again, thank you Donna Brazile for telling your colleagues to stop the B.S. Now maybe we can get back to talking about the issues. In supporting roles, special thanks also to David Gergen, Jeff Toobin and Roland Martin! And last, but certainly not least, thank you North Carolina for being a gamechanger!
How about it Wolf? Can we get a story from you about Barack Obama getting his mojo back?

Max, there is a link in one of the other posts. I just responded to what I witnessed. As ochoed before, Donna was awesome and Wolf...later he was still cheerleading. I'm very proud of NC today!

Your post is devoid of the policy you pretend to be interested in. You are the product of a campaign style heavy on rhetoric. As I zapped between CNN and the French tv channels in France where I live, I couldn't help seeing the irony of listening to the French complain about the guy in the suit who was so skillfully marketed into office exactly one year ago and listening to my fellow citizens falling for the same tactics.
I really feel that African American women had a chance to turn the situation around. They voted race instead of gender. Hopefully, the choice of Sebelius will enable the Democratic party to keep some of the voters who are going to opt for a candidate in a minor party -- Mckinney -- simply to send the message from the under-represented majority of women that it's high time we mopped up the mess.

What about waiting for the RIGHT woman to come along?

Or maybe they voted character instead of gender.
I know I did.

Or maybe we actually sat down an looked at who would be a better leader. Or would that be crediting black females with too much thought for your tastes?

Leadership and governing skills are not about genitals. Hillary's gender is as irrelevant as her eye color. If you support her based on her genitals then you are a sexist and part of the problem rather than the solution.

OK, I give up. Who got into office exactly one year ago? If you're talking about Obama, he's been in the senate for 3 years.
What a presumputous, arrogant statement! I am a 60 year-old white woman who is for Obama. I am voting competence, decency, and for someone who sees the world closest to the way I do. I would vote for him if he were white, or if he were a woman, but not BECAUSE of either of those things.
Your assumptions, which you try to pass off to your amis, are not particularly helpful or enlightened.

I assumed he meant Sarkozy.

Seriously, I'm a white woman and I'll be voting for Barack and have worked my butt of for him. So does that mean I picked being a self-race hater over gender?
This is the exact thing that Obama talks about. Getting away from this idea that labels must define us and that we must act in according to whatever those labels describe (hint: those labels are stereotypes anyway).

Oh yeah, and Donna Brazile is amazing. I've loved pretty much everything I've seen her do. I'm not old enough to know about that whole 'Barbara Bush' controversy she resigned over, but I'm wondering if youtube will have anything...

Donna Brazile was very sensible last night on CNN even going after democratics who have lost their way, such as Paul Begala and Lanny Davis, especially Davis. It people like Davis, who seem to be in the pay of Clinton, that never give an inch. It is dems like him who might just lose the election for the dems in November. He is not really an analyst but an advocate for only one side. Shame on him and on Begala.

Actually Donna Brazile was great. It is possible to be sitting on a news panel and just sit there when some outrageous thing is said. Then, low and behold, if no one says anything, the statement gets a label of "facts" when nothing could be further from the truth. Good to see a woman out"Fox" a couple of men. Keep up the good work, Donna. In the end, if everyone tells the truth, we will have the right candidate to beat the Republicans. BUT, make no mistake about it, whichever wins will be tromped on by the actual RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY because the far right realizes if a Democrat gets elected, some of the people in this administration need to be arrested and absolutely, that would be in order. I am excited that finally Democrats had a woman and a Black to chose between. Never expect anything like that from the bigoted Republicans.

mJJ, you are correct. Donna rebutted the spin before it was allowed to take root. I think I love her. She didn't just collect a paycheck. She displayed a lot of courage and integrity.

It was nice sparring with you Tena, but it's over. Your your candidate has won. As I promised I will volunteer for Obama in the fall. It turns out, though, that I'm going overseas. My only contribution will be to rally expats to vote Democratic.
I think Clinton will try to clear her campaign debt and play on through Kentucky using a unity against McCain theme. Over the next several months Clinton will do her part to unify the party. If she does so, the least the Obama supporters can do is not blame her when he loses somewhere between Dukakis and McGovern.

This article needs some editing:
1. "to cast dispersion upon" should be "to cast aspersions on"
2. "at a lost for words" should be "at a loss for words"
3. "What a clad!" should be "What a cad!"

Tera, Thanks. You are right about the edits. I normally try to catch those myself. However, it was late and I was rushing. Once you hit the send button,it's too late. Despite the mistakes, I hope that the thought was clear.
