CNN: WV Republicans Voting in our Primary
A CNN reporter just stated that Republicans tell him they are crossing over to the democratic party temporarily, to vote in our primary.
These Republicans (or temporary democrats) told the reporter that they are doing this to give Obama more votes, so that the Clinton win will be less dramatic.
The democratic party knows that Republicans have been involved in our process, skewing the results in Obama's favor since Iowa.
Obama supporters who point to Limbaugh's public urging of IN republicans to vote for Clinton know better. They aren't stupid enough to believe that Limbaugh suddenly became honest and transparent. They know that the margin -suddenly- narrowing to a squeak would not have happened without Republicans.
And why hasn't Howard Dean made the slightest move to retain the integrity of our primaries?
This has obviously been going on for years. Why does the democratic party have so little self respect that they have left our primaries so vulnerable?

First they switch to keep it going, now they switch to close it down? This makes so much sense. I now understand this whole primary has been a sham and we should stop now and start it all over again. Man I'll be so happy when this is over and we can all begin to chill.
Also please look at this poll. http://abcnews.go.com/PollingUnit/Vote2008/Story?id=4837828&page=1
While I agree some Republicans maybe crossing to in an attempt to game the system, the numbers are small.
I know you want Hillary to win this, but getting paranoid about it is not going to help.

You state that the numbers are small.
Is there a link for this information?
I assume you aren't making this up.

Limbaugh knows the primary race is over and now wants to make it look like he thinks Obama was the weaker candidate and his dastardly plan has worked.
MUHAHAHAHAHAHA. MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. MUHAHAHAHAHAHA.

You can take a look at a study done after the TX primary where this first line of reasoning started to get traction.

There was some exit poll data studies done on the blogs about IN going to Hillary because of McCain GE voters voting for HIllary to keep the primary contest going. The so called Limbaugh effect. Again I tend to discount anything based on exit poll data. People tend to sometimes say things in exit polls that aren't necessarily reflective of what they actually did.
Also as far as WV is concerned it is a closed primary so Republicans voting in this primary would have had to register at least two weeks prior to today in order to vote. I have seen nothing in the news about heavy cross over WV registration in the news. This doesn't mean I didn't miss it.

hey...this is a democracy. like it or not, you can't stop people from voting just because you don't like their political affiliation. now, obviously, you can have closed primaries (which i'm not a fan of) but if you have an open primary its kinda childish to complain about republicans voting for democrats.
besides, has it ever occurred to you that maybe these voters mean it? i mean, 83% of the country thinks we're on the wrong track. A lot of that 83% has gotta be republicans...

I'm going by what Republicans told the CNN
reporter. They planned to vote McCain in the
GE, and crossed over to diminish HRC's win.
Obviously Republicans don't want McCain up against
a candidate who could and probably would, beat him.
