Anti/Christ
The comments section of news stories about Obama can yield interesting fruit, and some reactions to Obama's surging candidacy take on a religious and paranoid tone. To wit,
Obama seems the perfect antichrist except for his ugliness.
Consider his popularity among young voters, his ability to continuously
lie without impunity, his connections to mob members and terrorist both
real and wannabes. His strong and unscrupulous desire for power, at any
cost, regardless what it does to others, (he became senator simply by
disqualifying his opponents). His empty words and changing promises,
his desire to be friends with those who wish to destroy us. His wife
Michele has expressed her hatred for this country and has publicly
announced that her husband is the messiah.
Perhaps you will need to explain to God why you voted for an
antichrist, but I am not going to be on that dark on judgment day.

a pawpaw is interesting fruit. i am thinking about planting a tree. The thing that makes this relevant to fruit in this thread is that what one thinks of as normal pollinators won't touch the flowers because the smell is less than pleasant. Flies and beetles do the work.

I came upon an interesting book by Jeffery Feldman called "Outright Barbarous - How the violent language of the right poisons American democracy" which has gotten equal widespread acclaim as his "Framing the Debate"..
In "Outright Barbarous" he describes the systematic pattern of devaluation and the methods of dissemination such, but balances it with practical steps to counter it.
His website is a valuable tool to track the growing crescendo of dangerous political rhetoric, specifically towards Barack Obama and the Democratic party.

Don't worry too much about this stuff. There are several websites dedicated to exploring the question of whether Bush is the anti-Christ. Bush certainly has provided much supporting evidence for them to consider!
