Alcee Hastings GBCW Letter to the DNC
Florida Congressman Alcee Hasting picked up his marbles and went home after hearing of the RBC's decision today.
As a matter of protest, I do not intend to attend the Democratic National Convention in Denver.Damn shame, Alcee. Maybe you and Harold Ickes have a pity party while the rest of us roll up our sleeves and get to work. This reminds me of parents at a Little League game.
I'm off to donate a few more bucks to the next President. The deadline is tonight for the month of May.

Does that mean that Hillary loses a SuperDelegate endorsement/vote in Denver, since Alcee won't be there to vote?

I want his seat in the Denver arena. Holy bajeez it's going to be the most amazing night in political history. Barack's speech will knock everyone's socks off.

I just want to let everybody know, for historical reference, that June 1 was the day an explosion at a coal mine killed 236 in Fukuoka, Japan.
I just automatically think of June 1 as Fukuoka, Japan Coal Mine Disaster Day, in case that ever pops up in conversation and it seems inexplicable or inappropriate to you.
That's just how I remember it's June 1.
So don't freak out or make a big deal out of it if I bring it up.

So many people talk about how so many Democrats in Washington owe their careers to Bill Clinton, but Alcee Hastings is a special case. In fact, Alcee probably owes the fact that he wasn't sitting in a jail cell throughout the 90's to Bill Clinton (and his pardoning pen).
In that context, a GBCW letter makes sense. He owes the Clinton's and then some.
