A vulgar post
If the Democratic Party doesn't wake the fuck up and realize that they currently getting their ass violated by the other side, you can kiss this election goodbye at least on the Executive branch (and therefore Judicial) side. This is a very very bad day for Obama. McCain is moving left on the war and tearing him up on readiness. That, and the whole party is getting all weepy about a California SC ruling that is pre poison from the big-D Dem standpoint. McCain is the ONLY Republican who could make Obama compete in California, and he may just have made that a certainty.
The fact that the party is not closing ranks is killing Obama today. When Obama loses 40 states, look to this day for the reason why, and remember it when HRC is campaigning against President McCain in 2011.
I'm a true-blue Obama guy, so this is not Clinton told-you-so-ism. People, the general is NOW. It is GO TIME!!

I think your main point is that instead of focusing our energy on drop-kicking McCain as he veers left or right depending on the wind, we're letting the Clintons walk all over our party and process.
If what you're saying is our party has no backbone, I might have to agree with you on that.
Other than that, how would you have handled today differently?

Im Ready.
And Screw McCain. The idiot Bush didnt mention Obama only insinuated him. Stupid as McCain, because he is a G-dam idiot says his name. Mind you, the tin foil hat Im wearing leads me to believe they did this to take the good news cycle away from Obama.....Remember, they told you
'We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.'

They were definitely doing this to take the cycle, and did, 669.
And gary, yes, that's exactly what I mean -- the first part that is about not drop-kicking. Obama was kept personally out of it so as not to get singed, which is the right play. But the problem is, as long as clinton is still in, all of her past stands on Obama are implicitly still operative, which mean Obama in effect got called unfit for CinC today and had the the argument partially confirmed by a top democrat.
And then lost in all this is McCain's absurd attempt to take credit for a victorious 2013 withdrawal from Iraq in 2008, which Biden had a great response to at HuffPo, but which if all the rest wasn't happening, would allow the party tp paint him a massive flipflopper.
So the double-barreled shot overwhelmed our divided Party's ability to respond effectively today. As long as we are not fully united, we are divided, and it affects our ability to maneuver.

Thought so. It's tempting and in many ways justified to blame the Clintons for our current inability to unify and stand resolute in the face of the neocon power structure.
But the party has had a difficult time doing this for a long time. The Republicans, as a party, are stronger communicators. Ironically, this has led to their downfall. Because their strong communications made their bad policies fail faster.
Democrats as individuals must grow backbones, stop appeasing a power couple from the 90s, and rise up with strength and say this foreign policy ends today. This President will be censured tomorrow. This country will not go to war with Iran, end of story.

Before we wring our collective hands, let's see how it plays out. Time and events are dynamic. They can change and so can minds.
If Democrats cave in, shame on us. Stand up and straighten out that too often folded spine or they will walk right and all over us. Imagine if the
Civil Rights movement said no, we can't do that because they won't let us. Who told them that they could?

We have a long way to November, and a lot of debates to come. News stories will crop up every day in the meantime. This is just one of them.
If Obama didn't feel ready for this, do you think he'd have run? I'm keeping the faith.

This is vulgar? Sounds more like whining about nothing. Honestly, if McBush's last line of defense is Hitler, then they have nothing but shrillness.
