A disappointed Tennessean
My letter to the Tennessee Republican Party, after learning of their latest ad attacking Michelle Obama, and their preposterous call to play "patriotic music" on the radio as a counterpoint to her visit:
As a Tennessean, I am ashamed of your recent ad attempting to smear Mrs. Obama for being unpatriotic. The woman was clearly expressing her delight that citizens were engaging in the political process in record numbers, and i find it appalling that you have seized on an offhand comment to try and attack her husband. If you honestly think that playing "patriotic music" on the radio is more of a service to Tennesseans than encouraging them to join in the political debate, then i look forward to seeing you lose your seats this November.
Please have some dignity and address your political rivals on the issues, not on nonsense.

Nice letter.
Have you notices that Republican have tried to spin her, feeling proud today, as necessarily meaning she must have been somehow ashamed before? This is a logical fallacy (as the Republicans very well know).
Its interesting how Obama is betting that the voters won't be fooled this time, while the Republicans are betting voters still will be. Obama has, so far, been winning that bet. At least, in the Dem. primaries. Well see for the GE.

Thanks, new10 - I know what you mean about the republicans (especially in TN) playing the same old strategy of saying something wrong loud enough and hoping it sticks, while Obama is appealing for common sense. I'm hoping that my fellow Tennesseans will see through such an obvious ruse and will go for the candidate that treats them like adults!
