A bad omen for Hillary
Everyone will recall that Hillary Clinton said everyone should root for the filly in the Kentucky Derby. The race is now over. Unfortunately, the filly, Eight Belles, placed second in the race, broke her front ankles, and was euthanised on the track. The winner? Big Brown . . . .

Wow, I was hoping that you were making up the last part. That is so sad. I had meant to watch it, but had to run out for cat food and missed it. Now I'm glad I did. Horse racing is so brutal, they're pushing those animals past their limits, and only for ego and money. So sad...
But the cheers of the crowd were cut short when the filly Eight Belles, who finished second, was euthanized on the track minutes after the race with a fatal injury.

It's was glaringly obvious that the announcers were playing with the politics of the day with the build up to the race (without ever saying it). Highlighted was Big Brown, a newcomer who won it's last three races but had yet to be tested and was coming out of the 20 gate, Colonel John who was a favorite and said to be a strong finisher who usually ran middle of the pack most of the race and the only filly of the field Eight Belles who was a scrappy horse that wouldn't give up.
Col. John finished sixth and the vaunted strong finisher kick never materialized. Eight Belles was running second, seemed to break at one point before charging on to finish a game second and Big Brown put into another gear in the final third of the race and pulled away.
Eight Belles collapsed to the ground shortly after finishing the race, and two equine ambulances went to the track and you could tell by the way they positioned themselves to block the view, and by how the jockey walked away distraught that they were putting her down on the spot. Two broken ankles - there was nothing that could be done.

I wish you would change the header. I don't think this tragedy should have any links with Hillary Clinton. At all. Period.

From the AP report today:
It's a horrible tragedy, compounded by crazy irony.

Great a really nice filly gets "put down" on a horrific injury. If you have ever been around horses I don't think you'd be making light of that situation. Pretty stupid and sickening if you ask me.
