73% of Americans to the media: do not declare Obama the winner yet
This poll conducted by the Pew Research Center shows the disconnect between Tim Russert and many other pundits with the average American.
Fully
72% of the public - including comparable percentages of Democrats,
Republicans and independents - say that journalists should not be
anointing Obama as the Democratic nominee at this stage in the race.
Just 20% say that journalists should be doing this.

At least this time they're telling the truth.
If 73% of the Country would prefer to be lied to then we got problems. I suspect a spun poll...

I would have imagined it would be closer to 100% who don't want the media annointing anyone of anything. It's not the media's job.
That is a very different question than, do you think Sen. Clinton should concede the race if she has no chance of getting as many votes as Sen. Obama?
It's all about the question and how people hear it, and has nothing to do with how you would like to interpret what people must have meant when they answered the question.

Good point. It's basically asking people if they think someone should ever give in to peer pressure.

There have been several polls conducted asking the question of whether Clinton should drop out or not, and in all of them, most Democrats, and most Americans in general, have said Clinton should remain in the race.

You mean they polled 100% of the entire US population?
Or is this more of "sample" polling? This is why Hillary's campaign and the things her supporters rely on are intangible.
Hillary can stay in as long as she wants. It does her stature a disservice.

All polls are based on "sample polling", as you like to call it. Have you ever seen a poll that surveys the entire population of a country?
Wow. I can't believe you are serious.

At this point what difference does it make? If having her go through the motions of campaigning in the remaining primaries will make her supporters feel better about Obama eventually getting the nomination, then she should continue doing that. What's the harm?

That's because sweetie-gate is hitting the MSM and blowing up. I bet he calls his wife sweetie at home behind closed doors. Can you imagine living with that hellish degrading abuse behind closed doors. What other woman hate is obama hiding from us!
Obama just needs to step down for the sake of the party.

So lemme see if I've got this right--the American public wants the press to declare Obama the nominee only after he officially wins the nomination? That just... it makes no sense.
