2025 is no longer the goalline 2208 is according to Clinton Camp...

I'm sure it comes as a surprise to nobody but the Clinton camp is again moving the goallines contending that Michigan and Florida need to be factored into the delegate equation and thus 2025 is a meaningless number - of course because Barack Obama was very likely to reach 2025 by the last primary in June.

Of course realizing that Hillary is stacking the DNC  Committees with her supporters and then steamrolling the delegate selections in Michigan (and likely Florida) to the point where she could have upwards of 87% of the delegates from the State.

Anyways here is the article - Click Me

While it serves her own purpose, Clinton has a point. It is very likely that the DNC will be against finishing this thing without giving Florida and Michigan any say in the matter.

Why? The people of Florida, at least, will rightfully feel slighted. 1.7 million voted in the contest, both candidates were on the ballot, and neither campaigned (though whether Obama had ads in the state purposely is a matter of debate). Then, to crown the nominee while excluding the votes of Floridians (who also happen to show more favor towards Clinton, the candidate that would not receive the nomination) is a very foolish long-term move.

Michigan, on the other hand, is a different matter. Given the circumstances there, I disagree with the Clinton camp's attempt to include their delegates in the matter.

Either way, since the Bylaws Committee will be meeting before the end of the primary season and Clinton has at least half of the members supporting her, it is likely that the "magic number" will increase, at least by Florida's number of delegates.

And, even putting aside the fact that I support Clinton, I think this is the way things should be if the Democrats want to follow their creed. Rules may be rules, but democracy is not democracy if it excludes the voice of the 4th largest state in the union.

I've always contended that Hillary should forget about Michigan and focus on the Florida votes. Michigan is very obviously unfair in that Obama, Edwards, Richardson were not on the ballot (per agreement between the candidates) and arguing that is was fair and should stand ruins her credibility.

Once again, I quote Andrew Sullivan: "In general with the Clintons, however, it is safe to assume that what they say is a lie until proven otherwise."
