Why Edwards won't endorse Hillary Clinton before North Carolina
<personal opinion>He would love to ... (which is why his wife is stumping for her), but he doesn't want to endorse her but have her still lose North Carolina.
That would make him look very ineffectual for a high-powered endorser.
So expect his endorsement after North Carolina, if she wins Indiana.</personal opinion>

unless the check clears the bank, why would any super endorse clinton now?
not that i would expect president obama to hold it against them, but what is the point?

Do some basic fact-checking before spouting off obamabot. BHO has outspent Hillary when it comes to paying off superdelegates.
Stupid people I can tolerate. Lazy, stupid people is where I draw the line.

He hasn't "paid off" any superdelegates, you idiot.

There are adults here. You can be 11 years old somewhere else.

Here, I corrected your statement:
'There are IGNORANT adults here.'
There, now it's accurate.
Why don't you try spending a little effort in learning the facts instead of being lazy about it?

She got one yesterday and she raised $10 mill today right?

Not sure why he hasn't endorsed. I stopped caring too. Unless he stays on with his poverty work I won't believe he was serious about it.
Believe it or not, Edwards isn't that strong in NC.

John is still living the dream of a second chance at VP.

Hillary/Edwards would be interesting I guess. At least it would be until Hillary was obliterated by McCain. I thought she was going to make him the Poverty Czar?
I thought he was tending to his dying wife and chilling out? But now Lizzy is going to campaign for Hill?
Edwards stopped being relevant when he left the senate. He did horribly here in SC and him and Kerry lost NC in 04 if I remember it right. He gets airplay but I've never seen him generate a fraction of the buzz Obama has anywhere in the Carolinas. Maybe he has RTP sewn up or something.

Great, snark comments about her cancer - a nice addition to the politics of hope. No, she's not specifically "dying", she's being treated or likely was treated last year and continues to be monitored for developments. And even if she were dying, it's her life to do whatever she wants and their decision to deal with it.
That aside, I don't see what Edwards on a ticket would buy anyone. The only ones that make much sense are Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton. Everything else is just a huge snooze button, and the last thing Democrats need is a sleepy November.

Wasn't meant to be flippant or snarky. I had heard she had terminal cancer and was bedridden or something similar to that. I didn't say she couldn't do whatever it is she wants to.
Clinton/Obama won't happen. Obama/Clinton won't happen, either I hope. Obama doesn't need Clinton. America doesn't need Clinton. Snooze button?

You snooze, you lose.

I was trying to see if you would elaborate on why "everything else is a huge snooze button".

Let's remember what Edwards has said previously:

Any endorsement from him would look completely disingenuous when contrasted with those statements.
Most of us see Hillary for what she really represents: a continuation of business as usual in Washington.

Elizabeth Edwards is now stumping for Hillary? I wasn't aware of that.
Good lord...Hillary's healthcare plan ain't all that?! How low will they go?
April 24, 2008 2:34 AM | Reply | Permalink
Not at all. She prefers Hillary's health care proposals, and the health care issue is what she wants to focus on, that is all.
See quotes from the horse's mouth here in the New York Times April 10: "Mrs. Edwards Won’t Endorse, and Moves to Her Issues"
I thank you, though, because you made me look this up. What's really interesting to me there is her argument at the end that the lengthy primary competition is a good thing (and the suggestion that perhaps Kerry should have had more primary competition!) It's certainly contrary to the general Reader Blog opinion here, that's for sure (not to mention Keith Olbermann, New York Times editorial board, et. al.,) and I find it refreshing.

If Elizabeth stumps for Clinton, than it would really hurt John in the Democratic party and with the leaders of the party who are trying to end Clinton's kamikaze campaign. I believe this is just a rumor that the Clinton camp is putting out there. If Hillary had won Pennsylvania by 25 percent maybe, but with no path to win the nomination now, it would be a really unwise move.

I'd have more respect for John Edwards if he took a stand before the NC primary, which is a lot more bold than speaking up after the results are in. Risky? Maybe. But it's a leadership quality.
