I happened to be in the right place to see Dick Cheney's motorcade speed by yesterday (he was in town for a fundraiser at an undisclosed location). Entire eastbound Interstate was closed (and all overpasses), there were enough state police motorcycles and cruisers visible to take on an invading army, then of course the line of limos (which one was he in?) and multiple Secret Service SUVs, followed by a speeding ambulance with all lights a'flashing - probably stuffed full of cardiologists - then more and more cops. It was all quite disturbing somehow, the monumental show of force made to ensure that the VP might pass safely among us common folks : : :
