Where is common sense?

avatar

A judge orders to take kids away from their parents and to start a long legal and investigative nonsense.  Hundreds of innocent families and children are separated. It just shows how careless judges can be. Most likely the person who makes such unpractical decisions is either very inexperienced and simply brainless or …

“In the name of protecting our children” the “authorities” - DFSC, state or federal departments can do everything?  Yes, they can raise taxes in New Jersey to the extent that it is impossible for anybody to afford to live in this state.  “Just to protect children” they can lie about our school budgets, justify enormous payrolls of school authorities and embezzlements.  They can disrupt the life of any community or family just to “protect”.  Say you are Orthodox Jewish, or Catholic or Orthodox Christian and somebody does not like you or your community.  Can they call the “Authorities”, tell them how abusive you are with your kids, and then the “Authorities” can just take your children away from you, and do it as violently as they did with these 416 children?  If so, they can equally raid my or your church, or your town, and order the DNA testing or anything else of this kind?

How about first starting with simple questioning of the actual suspects or following any leads of child abuse and investigate any specific case. How about first think and then act. The actions and decisions of this particular judge is so outrageous that it makes me think that she or he has some political or commercial agenda or interests, or is acting on behalf of these interests or powers.  This judge is not elected by the community as most judges in the United States, but appointed.  So everything is possible.  It could be to seize the valuable land on which this community lives or if there is some political revenge against them.   It could be anything.

I am Catholic, and I am not polygamist.  I have no personal interest in this polygamist community and I don’t like their customs. But I am outraged by this story and actions of authorities, particular by the fact that they can take children from innocent families just based on false allegations. Not all of them are abusers of minors.  It directly affects our liberties and liberties of any community.

Join me to protect these fundamental human rights to raise our children the way we want and not the way our “authorities” want us to. Join me to protect these polygamist families also. There is nothing wrong to be polygamist if this is your belief.  Some of us accepted the most unorthodox rights of gays to marry each other, so why don’t we accept rights of polygamist families to exist. Why is being gay or lesbian more accepted than having many wives.  Is it because some gays are too powerful and politically connected?  Having many wives is totally accepted and legal in many Arab countries today and actually is the lifestyle mentioned in the Christian Old Testament.  It is not the way of life I would ever choose for myself (especially with my wife looking over my shoulder) but how can we deny their rights, beliefs, and judge them for their traditions?

I reserve my own opinion, but why should people be allowed to have many wives? It's essentially degrading of women. So then, if you allow women to have many husbands as well, what's the point of marriage? This essentially brings us to a free-love world-view.

As long as it's truly consensual, I see no problem with that, although it's not my cup of tea. That said, the people in question need to be old enough to make an informed decision.

They have girls there that are underage and pregnant unless i am mistaken. Its a cult that is breaking the law, thus something had to be done.

Hey I agree that something had to be done - it's been overdue for years.

They didn't start in Texas - they came there from far northwestern Arizona where there has been an enormous colony of the same group for years and years. And they abuse welfare terribly - they have 4 or 5 young pregnant wives and they put them welfare and laugh at the government about it.

But I agree as well that they ought to be with their mothers where possible because I know what the foster care system in Texas is like and it is the worst in the nation. I really don't think it gets us anywhere to take those kids and put them in foster care.

And it's expensive.

Because this is the way they always deal with child abuse. The child is effectively punished by removal from the home while the abusive parent continues to live in a comfortable routine. That's the way it is.

Where do you live that molesters don't go to prison?

Does no one remember the Branch Davidians?

I'm really startled about the seemingly pro-molestation hue and cry over all of this. Is it a cluster F? Absolutely. Should a just society sit by while a bunch of gross old men are fathering their grandchildren? I lean toward no on that. Where IS common sense?

The mothers are just as subject to the criminality of child abuse as the men. Thus, the children are not safe from misguided direction in the WELL BEING of the child.

What about familial incest? Is that possible? Does THAT go far enough for you?

It's funny how as a man you are taking up the cause of multiple sex partners and child sex from a viewpoint of objectification of women and leaving the damaging effects of that silent.

Funny how this dude left an email address. Maybe he's a lobbyist for perverted special interest.
