Talking Points for when Idiots Bring up Ayers

Actually, there is just one.

* Mr. Ayers was a radical anti-Vietnam War activist in the late 60's when Barack Obama was 8 years old. Mr. Ayers eventually turned himself in to the authorities and was released. Subsequently, he has been an upstanding citizen committed to non-violence and a well-known and -respected philantrophist in the Chicago area and nationally. He has long been a distinguished professor of Education at the University of Chicago. He criticized the Weatherman organization and its methods in his autobiographical book. Anything else?

"Anything else?"

Yeah, why should anyone besides Mr. Ayers have to answer for him?

Send this to the Obama Campaign!

Yeah, yeah, and the Rev Wright is/was a do-gooder too, make that a do-better.

You say that like it's a bad thing. I'm guessing you think you're being sarcastic, but Rev. Wright, the marine, has done a lot of good things for his community, so I really don't think you get the idea of sarcasm.

You folks are acting like what Rev. Wright said was so off the mark. The U.S. government deem Blacks 2/3 of a person and other people's property. Just back in the 60s, there was a flee of White folks to the republican party because Lyndon Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1965. If given the opportunity, these same “decent” republicans would gladly go back to the good ole days, so I don't see anything wrong with him saying the U.S. KKK of A.

Like what specific "lot of good things" has he done for his community?

Some say, Castro has done good things, even Hugo Chavez, but that doesn't change what they are.

Are we defending Wright/Ayers for the good things they have maybe done, or because they are Obama's buddies?

If you are failing to know what good works Rev. Wright has done through the church ministry in Chicago, means you have done no research, and that means you are talking because you have a hole in your face and nothing more or in this case, unfortunate computer access.

Addendum:

Assertion: Ayers said that he regretted he did not kill/bomb more people on 9/11.

Answer: An article published by the New York Times on Sept. 11th discusses Ayers' book, released earlier in 2001. In the book, Ayers does indeed state that he does not regret setting explosives in the 60's (causing no injuries except to members of his own organization) but that overall he has found much to disagree with about the mentality and the methods of the group back then. He also says that wishes that they had done more to stop the Vietnam War (the war continued for almost another decade) as their methods were obviously ineffective.
