Stake out the High Ground - Somebody!
With the release of John Yoo's disgusting memo today, I think this is a key topic that is tailor-made for Obama to take a stand on, and use his rhetorical skills to drive home the
difference that an Obama Administration would make in terms of its
views of foreign policy, and human rights.
If he takes a stand and
speaks out on the illegality of the current regime's torture, and ties
it in to their overall imperial view, he can serve as a beacon to
people who still believe in the freedom and rights that America (used
to) represent. This is a message that I think can resonate both domestically and internationally.
By doing so, he can also answer those who are
critical of his (lack of )foreign policy experience by coming out and saying
America used to stand for something and now needs to do so again. He
can use human rights as a baseline for how he wants his foreign policy
to be shaped, rather than by corporate concerns. I think there are many
here who can rally around that. He can even use the "lack of
experience" criticism to say that he has not been corrupted by DC to
where he would be ok with this, as much as the people who pushed this
through. He can use this to draw the differences between himself and McCain, who despite his experiences as a prisoner-of-war, seems to be content in giving the US government an equal footing with the people who tortured him.
In short, this is an opportunity that Obama should go after and seize. I'd welcome Clinton to do the same. In the uniquely bright light that a presidential campaign affords, they can turn the focus to something that is very important, rather than the expected pattern of a few days of mock moral indignation and then a quick fade away.

Obama opposed impeachment according to USA Today.
Your suggest would involve attacking somebody. Obama only attacks Clinton and sometimes McCain. He doesn't have the stones to make a concerted effort against this policy -- he would be too busy uniting us by explaining that the people who did this had the very best of motives.
