Six Weeks Later -- and Where's the beef?

avatar

Six weeks ago Hillary was poised to win Pennsylvania by ten percentage points more or less.  Today polls indicate that Hillary will win by 8 to 11 percentage points.  Six weeks, millions of dollars spent on a primary election and where are we?

Almost exactly where this all started.  Except now both Obama and Hillary are a bit muddier.  The winner in the Pennsylvania Deocratic Primary may well be John McCain.

Six weeks ago, Hillary was up 33 pts in PA. Obama erased that according to polls last week. Today, Hillary's lead is only 10pts.

It's hard to say millions of dollars were wasted, given those numbers.

Thanks for the comment.

I suppose primaries are like football games. The teams don't just read the odds-makers and then skip the season. They read the odds-makers, practice hard and actually play all the games.

Fair enough. Let's see the final scores.

My personal worry is that by the time we see the final scores -- the scores won't matter. McCain and the GOP will have had the time (with no opponent on the field) to lay the groundwork to win in November.

Just check out today's ads in North Carolina. Maybe Johnson had it right. The Southerners will rise to stand up for racism again, again for at least a full generation.
