Rendell: Obama's only 50% vetted

avatar

PA Governor Ed Rendell's latest comments (see http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/04/gov-rendell-the.html) illustrate the Clinton campaign's obvious strategy of arguing against Obama's ability to win the general election versus arguing for hers.   Jake Tapper, who spoke with Rendell, countered the comments noting that some yet unopened Clinton Presidential library records and such could harm her in any GE campaign.

No matter.  I have only one question for the good Governor:   Who would've thunk Hillary was attacked by sniper fire in Bosnia?   Her thorough "documentation" may be public, but - given her veracity - all this vetting would ironically do her in.   Just imagine the GOP's fun with THAT.

All her comments about Obama, her and McCain will also be shown - along with the Bosnia story.

She has a LOT MORE on her plate then Barack Obama does. That's the advantage of Obama's lack of time in Washington.

Well be seeing the Impeachment stories, her right wing conspiracy stories, Nafta stories, etc..

If Supers really feel she's the one to win -- we deserve to lose.

What a completely absurd comment. I mean, how can we know if we only know 50% without knowing 100%? It might be more like 60-40, 0r 70-30. I mean, it could be more like 99-1. We have no way of knowing the ratio of unknown without knowing the denominator. Silly Eddie must have forgotten his sixth grade math class.

PA Gov approves of one-half of Obama! Continues to find trouble with other half!

(stupid "reply" button, arghhh)

And last night Hillary went on Leno and spoofed her own spoof. Her appearance on late night TV was uniquely American compared to the strained seriousness of Obama's Philadelphia speech. Certainly an indication of the relative seriousness of the two situations.

Her joking about sniper fire was no less offensive than Bush's jokingly looking around the oval office for WMD's. You wonder if they don't share a writer.

If Hillary had any respect at all for the valor of those who served in Bosnia or for those serving today - she would not have allowed that stupid, arrogant remark on Leno last night.

And then - she had the ignorantly shameless audacity to again excuse her fallacious recollection on grounds of sleep deprivation.

Well, its pretty well known that JFK and his advisers were sleep deprived as the missile crisis progressed, too. Worse - they had a far greater weight around their necks, possibly as great as the very continuation of civilization itself.

But he remained lucid and clear in judgment.

Glad that wasn't Hillary thinking things out back then - we might not be here today.

Hillary and Bill haven't been vetted at all over the last 7 years.

And they will be if she, God forbid, gets the nomination. By the Republicans. Big time.

Because she's gone unassailed recently (except when she herself steps in it big time), doesn't mean she won't be.

Give me a break.

PA Gov approves of one-half of Obama! Continues to find trouble with other half!

Very reminiscent of Eddie's backpedaling and hair-splitting over the "not ready to be commander-in-chief, but ready to be vice-president" contradiction, in which he echoed the "not ready yet, but will be by november" nonsense.
As for the number (50%): pulled right out of his ass, from whence much of his rhetoric originates.

Yeah, "it" is only half of what he's full of.

I have been a Rendell constituent since his days as mayor and as governor. For me, he has morphed from a fun mayor into a buffoon; I think many if not most Philadelphian share this feeling now that his biggest legislation has been to shove mandatory and unwanted slot parlors down our throats.
He has brought this to a new level now that he has become Mark Penn 2.0 (we all know the quotes). Previously this has annoyed me and even at times worried me, as Pennsylvania is a tight race. But reading this post has really changed my mind.
All of this anti-Obama buffoonery speaks to the majority of Pennsylvanian who don't trust him. The more he talks up Clinton, the more suspicious everyone is of not just him but her as well. When Pennsylvanians hear him speak, we generally are automatic to look for the spin or the lie. Safest bet is to assume the opposite of what he says. Most of the state has realized this all along, but now even in Philadelphia (with the exception of our current mayor) we are seeing the through the lie (so what if he was our hometown long shot).
So I say lets get more of his sound bites out there for all of Pennsylvania to hear, it is only going to bring more Pennsylvanians over to Obama.

Go Rendell!! Go Fox News!!
