Race For The White House

I just love this show.  Rachel Maddow is my new hero.  Okay, so I realize she and Keith Olbermann can't get married and have children, but still.

Tonight she said some amazing things.  I wish I could find the video at MSNBC.com.  But I can't, so I'll try to sum it up here.

Basically, she laughed at Joe Scarborough, as usual, and then said, "Look, the MSM has been ranting about Wright for almost a week.  Meantime, there's the argument going on about the solution to gas prices, there's Bush blaming Congress for the recession that he's been denying for months, and 4 soldiers died in Iraq yesterday, I mean....c'mon!"

She then made everyone there (Eugene Robinson, Joe, the fill-in for Gregory tonight, and some nerdy looking right-winger whom I think goes by the name of Casey) promise to stop talking about Wright from now on.  And even Joe promised her he'd stop.  I was blown away.

Right after that shocking moment, the nerdy Casey guy and Joe both divulged that they heard rumors today that the Clinton camp is starting to signal that they might pack up their tents and go home in early June...if not before.

Am I the only one who saw this tonight on MSNBC?  Because I'd like to be pinched.

You're right Elisabeth. I saw the show at 6PM est. Race For The White House-2008 with fill in host David Schuster of "pimping out Chelsey" fame. She nailed it on Rev. Wright vs the issues. She and Joe have gone at it before. I almost fell out of my chair though from all the Obama praise from him.

I was surprised to hear Joe praising BO, which is very unusual to say the least...

I think Senator did a great job today overall. Hopefully, the media will go back to the issues, but I fear that the media prefer to report trash than actually news...

It seems that there is a consensus to indicate that whomever has the most pledge delegates would win the nomination. This was indicated for example by Jimmy Carter today.

Unless something terrible happens, between today and next Tuesday, Senator Obama will get the nomination...

Wow -

instant karma? flameback?

I love this - and she's leaving in June? Why not now and why doesn't she quit smearing Obama then?

The optimist in me says she backs out before the end of May. I have a $50 bet with my coworker and I'd hate to have to pay up.

Indiana, close. NC no way can Hillary win. WV she has in the bag. I forget the schedule after that but I know Obama's got the western state(s) and there is no way in hell she can ever catch up.

Hillary was waiting for the great big thing that would scare Obama's supporters away (meaning all of us, and his superdels as well). Wright is not that big thing. She has nothing left to wait for.

So maybe it's not just the optimist in me that made that crazy bet....

And if I win, the $50 is going to Obama's campaign.

Damn, just when I swore off watching MSM TV news crap three days ago (and have thoroughly enjoyed the no TV days), and I miss this??? Someone find the clip! Please!!

Wouldn't it be awesome if we had a television channel (NON-cable!!) that offered Rachel and Cenk and all the other progressive voices out there -- 24/7. I'd quit MSNBC in a heartbeat (goodbye, Chris) as long as Keith shows up once a week on this new REAL NEWS network as a special guest. The best of Arianna's HuffPo bloggers too.

Wouldn't it be awesome?

Also, in response to psmdsfc, I agree. It's in the bag. The MSM is trying to get their last few glory days in before their shit hits the fan.

In response to monkeywrench, thanks for filling me in on who's who at MSNBC, I'm new to the channel this year. And I like your posts a lot, by the way.

Lis,
Thank you, You're progressive channel is a great idea. Streaming Air America. If MSNBC, who's not new to me but some of the pundits are getting old, could air Don Imus then why not Young Turks?

Didn't Al Gore try to do a TV channel? Or at least talk about doing one?

CurrenTV. It's still around, but like typical liberals, everyone likes to talk about supporting something, but never really get around to doing it. I'm the only Democrat I know who watches it occasionally. There's a lot of great programming and what's cool is when you get to vote on what gets shown on the air via the website.

Geez, I didn't know it became an actual channel! I'd better check the 500 or so channels on my Comcast and see if I might have it. Thanks!

You may have a point Bill Clinton has been less visible; Wright has been worn out; the PA. win was not as advertised; the MSM appears to need new thrills; all with families (MSM, Pols, etc) will go on vacation; the Supers are tired; friends of Bill & Hill are fewer, and money maybe have dried up as Obama approach has been to urge Team Clinton to spend, spend and spend, meaning no more kitchen sinks. Finally, folks are just tired and Clinton may be a fighter but Obama does not appear to back down at all. Being an optimist is not a bad place to be......

"Right here, right now...there is no other place I'd rather be"

Ok, what do you think of this picture? I took it last night, too.

You're still a Red X, lovey.

It doesn't show up? It does for me? O hell - -

I see it fine!

You're still singing that Lis?

Here it is again
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xa1hDJjWuYc

I HEART this video. Thanks again for it.

I you punch me really hard in the stomach, it takes me a little while to recover, but by god, I do. I am the world's biggest optimist and fool. I actually believe we're better than we seem to be.

Well the potential is there.

And interestingly, in all that MSM talk about "he's outspending her 2 to 1, 3 to 1, 6 to 1!!!" no one, at least not that I heard, ever put forth the idea that he might be forcing her into bankruptcy. Which I thought was brilliant.

If you punch me...

What happened to our lovely TenaX?? You are now just a red X.

"Come back...come back to me. Come back."

Rachel Maddow is dreamy!

I used to love Rachel and Chuck D together.

*sigh*

Did you see the Countdown that Rachel hosted a few Fridays ago? She did a great job. Not just anyone can fill in for KO. As Letterman said, he's an enormous man.

Yes, and she's received a lot of kudo's for it, as she should. Keith says he wants her back next time. Says a lot.

I can see it, Lis.

Alas - I don't what is wrong.

*sigh*

Tena, the picture is good and comes across on my screen. Lis, it's a software issue on your end, I think. A

Well quick - vote on the choice cause I changed it back cause I didn't think it was working -

I don't care. It's time to go read in bed. LOL!

Oh, darn. It must be the same software issue that makes the shirt Genghis wears in his new avatar look peach-colored as compared to my burgundy one.

Note to self: Upgrade graphics card tomorrow.

no that shirt of Genghis' is just hideous.

Can you see me now?

Still can't see you. But I'm starting to get used to the red X.

Genghis' shirt is persimmon.

Persimmon!!! No one has mentioned that shade yet!!

Ding ding ding!

I've got new ammo. Now I can keep this argument with Genghis going for another month, at least!

(rubs hands with glee)
