Hillary's numbers should be out today as well. It will be interesting to see those.

Obama has $51 million in cash on hand. Hot damn!

McCain raised a whopping $15 million.

I was poking around at CRP earlier and McCain has just now raised about as much as Romney did.

John McLucky can sit on his war chest, Hillary's donors are fighting the battle for him at this point.

That was sheer genius. Could I propose a separate post? How do you do it!

I love this - this makes my Sunday night and also means I'll wake up happy tomorrow.

No loser raises money like that.

:)

Thanks, Opus, you do have the best gravatar going.

Thanks Tena. It's a good news bit for tomorrow. The Supers are watching!

Sweet dreams....

sweet dreams to you too - mind that anxiety closet.

50 million reasons he will be the nominee. No way the DNC leaves that money on the table. No way.

I notice Hillary's numbers aren't up yet. Stalling?

I hear it's hot in the kitchen, especially when you're cookin' the books. The numbers are supposed to be in by midnight according to what I've reead.

I've been waiting to see her numbers too. Seems like they reluctantly came out with the "about 20 M" number in response to his over 40 number, which the MSM immediately started repeating as a solid 20 M. My guess is she comes under that and then we'll have to see how much of that is available for primaries vs. general. My gut tells me she is in trouble financially. All the signs are there.

That's the big question, and the numbers should be out by now. How much of that $20 mil is for the primary?

Hillary's numbers are now up. I've been reading some of the analysis over at Daily Kos. Sounds like she raised $8 mil in March, and has about $10 mil in debts. Here's the numbers. I'm not sure how they figure what is only for the general, as the above-mentioned numbers are primary only.

But going through her debts she still owes people money in Ohio, in Texas, in Las Vegas...
Charming resume for a potential US President isn't it?
It amazes me how the MSM lets her off the hook on this

Show me the money!

Obama debt - $662,784.55
Hillary debt - $10,321,562.87

I'm glad you posted Obama's debt numbers, too. I assumed he must have some, as anyone who uses credit cards will have "debt". Presumably, that debt doesn't stay on the books for more than a month, however.

Comparing the two numbers makes Hillary's debt more meaningful.

Woo Hoo!!

clearthinker!,

What happened to you? You look... different...

Omigosh, was it the Kool-aid?

avatar

Surely she didn't loan herself more money? That would be crazy. She will never get the $5 million back.

avatar

This should get the superdelegates attention. Not to mention the rally in Philadelphia with 35,000 to 40,000 people.

avatar

With all the money he's had pouring it, why didn't he sew up the nomination months ago?

avatar

...because hillary won't say uncle, and doesn't have to ahead of the convention unless she runs out of money or obama hits the magic delegate number. the hitting of the number again depends on a lot more factors than how much money is being poured.

Because, genius, Hillary had a warchest in excess of 100 million dollars going into the nomination contest.

Do you think before you write, or are you intellectually incontinent?

That's what blogs are for. A dribble here, fart with a lump there.

Depends for the brain.

He did sew it up about a month ago. The party is over, but Hillary is still standing at the keg trying to suck the last dregs out of it. It's like that old SNL sketch about the rude houseguest that can't take the multiple hints that it's long past time to go home.

Opus, just gotta tell you, in this time of tension & strife seeing you sure perks us up!

When I first saw this particular Opus in the strip I fell on the floor laughing.

By the way, love what your posting as well. Keep up the fun & good works.

Thank you! Just doing my best to share my anxiety closet with the rest of the world.

One clear indicator that Barrack will be a better leader than either Hillary or McCain are the obvious differences in how they've run their campaigns. Barrack's campaign is flush with money based on endless small donors (money that comes from 'the people') while Clinton, who's relied more on the conventional democratic monied interests, is in big time debt; and McCain can't seem to get sufficient enthusiasm from his base to raise much cash at all.

Also, Clinton's campaign has been plagued with squabbling and high profile firings and made huge blunders in having no post Super Tuesday strategy in most states, while Barrack's army of volunteers and paid staffers are managing one of the most efficient, effective campaign operations in history. What does this say about how they'd select, lead and motivate a White House staff? I think it speaks volumes.

Barrack's leadership style nurtures flexible, nimble teams with shared and clearly understood objectives, better equipped to achieve common goals. Hillary’s campaign has been characterized by the more traditional, top down leadership style where only a close circle have access and make decisions. It's a closed, bureaucratic approach most private sector organizations now see as less evolved and effective than flatter, more matrixed organizations, where a clearly communicated set of principles and objectives guide action vs. the orders and mandates of a few insiders.

In this and many other ways, Hillary represents the past, and Barrack represents the future. McCain is so far behind the curve in this discussion, his approach can hardly be mentioned.

Barrack will likely succeed because history tells us, at some point, the past must yield to the future. It's inevitable. And I think the time for this change is now. We shall see.

Obama '08

‘Ann’

You have to wonder why Hillary can't get a steady and reliable base among donors.

Such the comedian!

avatar

Obama's 5 to 1 advantage in cash and he still isn't beating Senator Clinton in PA LOL!! It will be interesting to see how much he pays for every vote he gets tue. What a joke.

avatar

all the money in the world will not remove the gellin image of obama as a petulant, arrogant snob...good luck, lets see how much the money helps in pennslvyania on the morrow

but, never fear, if philly is lost, why we can raise another 100 million....all the good it will do with a candidate prone to odd associations and odd inabilities to explain said oddities in an acceptable, understandable way to us yahoos

there was a reason hillary looked like a million bucks in the debate, obama like a cheap suit from goodwill..you cannot buy the ability to lead, not just make speeches, but assert oneself, be dominant...

Enjoy your hate! We'll see how far that gets you.

"there was a reason hillary looked like a million bucks in the debate:

Yes, a make-up artist and the services of a good plastic surgeon.

Sad. But so very obvious.

Ugh ! God ! I am SOOOOO sick and tired of the Clinton people. Remember the goal people - DEMOCRAT IN THE WHITE HOUSE !!! RIGHT ????? Thats why we are all so passionate about this, right ? COME ON !!! PLEASE !!!!!!! Help yourself, help all of us (who really care about this great country!) - We gotta start getting together on this - FOR REAL !
