Obama: 54,000 Donations in the 24 Hours Since the Primary was Called

avatar

I have been casually tracking Obama's contributions over the past 24 hours. Last night the count past through 1,375,000 mark. This evening at about 8:30 the count was 1,428,959. Obama's average donation is about $96. That's about 5 million in the past 24 hours. That doesn't include off-internet contributions. In the late afternoon, using the $96 per contribution estimate, he was clocking over 1/4 of a million per hour. It looks like Obama is doing fine.

Of course who knows what misspeaking Hillary's numbers really are.

well, I've been following it too. What you don't point out is that this number only includes donations from NEW donators. This number does not include donations from recurring contributors. I'm sure a whole lot of people who have been contributing all along contributed yet again since the Penn primary. I know I did. So your estimate is most certainly low.

Good point and good news.

The post should have read

It also looks like they will reach their 1.5 million donors goal in the next couple of days.

Hi

I am not able to see the tracking of the new contributors in Barack's webpage. Where are you finding these numbers?

Keep an eye on the blue panel under the links.

i still cannot see the counter in his webpage.

i wonder if it has something to do with my computer!!

i used to see the counter till yesterday, but now mysteriously it is gone. Also, they are not updating the delegate totals. why the delay?

When you first load the page, wait. What browser are you using? When the page is completely loaded, you'll see the panel that says "State of the Race" change to "Theres nothing Elitist about 1,437,000 ..."; It takes about 5 seconds for the change to occur.

"Of course who knows what misspeaking Hillary's numbers really are. "

Are Hillary's number for real? Call me a cynic, but I never trust anything they say. These are the same folks who had big contributions from dishwashers and empty warehouses last year. I always get the feeling that her big donors, all maxed out, will find nieces and nephews, even pets, to "contribute" through the internet. It would be awfully easy to cheat on those small donors.

Dishwashers for Clinton

I don't. That's why I said, "misspeaking Hillary." It was meant as sarcasm.

I just checked the counter myself.

hooooooly crap
!!!!!

Can you imagine how many it must be since this is only counting new donors?

come on... do you really believe that Hillary clocked 10 million? Just the thought of that cracks me up. I have serious doubts about that. After all we are talking the Clinton movement here and we know how they run like scared pussy cats from the truth.

I do not trust a single thought which comes from their heads.. Not me!

yeah, it's absurd. And everyone just reports it as if it's fact.

What amazes me is the sharp increase in new donors after Obama loses the primary. That means that more people are engaging in a more substantive.

I spend money when I'm depressed, too. It's not surprising that Obamanauts rush to donate every time he gets clobbered. What was the last primary he won? Been a while. No? Dig deep.

I donated last night and it had nothing to do with depression. More like determination, and an attempt to show support for your candidate.
