McCain's temper: "a sneering, condescending attitude"
Scary:
Former senator Bob Smith, a New Hampshire Republican, expresses worries about McCain: "His temper would place this country at risk in international affairs, and the world perhaps in danger. In my mind, it should disqualify him."
"I've witnessed a lot of his temper and outbursts," Smith said. "For me, some of this stuff is relevant. It raises questions about stability. . . . It's more than just temper. It's this need of his to show you that he's above you -- a sneering, condescending attitude. It's hurt his relationships in Congress. . . . I've seen it up-close."

Remind me again, why anyone likes this jerk?

But I think McCain's more substantial weakness is foreign policy. It's time Obama really called him on it. These gaffes he keeps making on Iraq reflect that he's essentially a militarist - not a
serious foreign policy analyst - eg.
When he "welcomed Ahmed Chalabi, leader of the Iraqi National Congress (INC), to Washington and pressured the administration to give him money"
When he replied to Chris Matthews in March 2003, who had asked him whether the Iraqis would treat Americans as liberators, "Absolutely, absolutely"?

I think McCain's temper is a great issue to go after. But then I'm a Clinton supporter, so I guess I'm just negative. If Obama wins the nomination we won't be going after McCain's reputed hot temper. We won't be going after anything negative about McCain. We will only be having a respectful dialog about the issues that really matter to the American people, because as Obama has said again and again, the American people are tired of politics as usual. They want change. And I know that's a fact because every election I hear people complaining about all the negativity, but it never changes. This time I just know it will. But thanks for trying.
I just can't wait to see this new world of politics.

Otto, in all seriousness, that's why I originally was hoping Hillary would be helping Obama go after McCain. Hillary is better at the negative attacks, so she'd be a good asset. But she's been so destructive that I don't expect a lot of help when she concedes. Which is too bad. I wanted more "teamwork" from all the Dems against the GOP this year. The great good, and all that.

Obama has admitted to being "restrained" in his campaigning against Hillary, but he said he would show no such restraint toward McCain.
There's plenty of ways to hit McCain without having to go below the belt. I wish this $%^# primary would end so Obama can get to the business of kicking McCain's ass.

Now that I think of it...I also cant use this as ammunition to say I dislike McCain. I actually was a fan of his in my much 'greener' days in the late 90's and very early 2000. He SEEMED to have a good head on his shoulders back then.
But just like how if this story came out about Barack Obama, id think "3rd party biased story". So I kind of have to think the same here. I cant judge a man off him getting pissed off a few times...or even alot. I am kind of the same away when I feel passionate about something or when folks act their shoe size. Maybe McCain got in this guys way and now he wants to tell a story. *shrug*.
Cant say it has never happened to me before.
So ill hold my judgement on this particular issue.

Also, I've observed that McCain is exceptionally good at distorting his opponent's positions and attacking those distortions with what appears to be total sincerity - so much so that I actually think he believes his own distortions. Remember, he did it to Romney in that last Republican debate. Romney finally had to ask McCain, "How is it that YOU are the expert on what MY position is". He is already doing the same to Obama.

Hillary is exceptional at distorting Obama's positions, but she come across as insincere. McCain's gift for appearing completely sincere while lying his ass off is a deadly combination of skills.
