Let's Talk Avatars!
I have decided that attempting to engage in any kind of meaningful discussion here at TPM it a hopeless endeavor. The software that runs this sight is a well-known joke, and unless one has 30 minutes to wait for a response to one statement, it's pointless to engage in anything. On top of that, any well-reasoned post is torn to bits by idiot moron trolls, and unless one wants to reinvent the wheel everday, this too has become tedious.
So from now until Hillary drops out of the race, I am switching my avatar to a cartoon charater and am changing my name to reflect this. From this point until I get tired of it, I'm assuming the guise of happy, cheerleading Opus Hussein X, and will try to live up to the standard of having only happy affirmations of whatever I find interesting, hypocritical, nonsensical, and moronic.

How to make an avatar:
1) click on the "edit" following "profile" at the top of this page
2) scroll down to "photo"
3) click "browse" to find the jpeg file you have pirated from some other website
4) click on your saved image
5) hit the "save" button at the bottom of the page.
It's that easy! Don't feel avatar-deficient any longer! Power to the Avatars!

Now can I ask the question again as to why the discussion times frustrate you? I was serious. I know it sounds lame, but I liked astral66, even if I didn't agree with it all the time. Maybe I'm going to be ridiculed for not wanting somebody to feel board-weary, but I'm still gonna hope that's not the case.

Hey Joe, just having some fun with my new persona. I appreciate your question and thanks for the props on my usual posts. I'm a long-time reader of TPM, but as newbie commenter and poster, I've found myself getting too drawn in to some of the more rancorous discussions. I was posting comments a year or two ago, but found that the degeneration of threads into pointless namecalling and insults just goes nowhere. So then and now, I recognize the need to step back and breathe deep and remember that this is supposed to be fun and illuminating. There is also a sense of frustration that comes from the unweildly software, the password login nonsense, and the way that thread end up all disjointed because the responses take so long to post.
OK, back to work...

...and now it's 20 minutes, later, still waiting for my last comment to show up, knowing that this one won't even appear until 10 minutes after it finally does post. When you get down to it, I think it's the the schizophrenia that's caused by carrying conversations on all 20 recent and recommended posts at the same time, and trying to figure out which one it is that you're trying to get back to....arrrghhhhh!
