Let's Talk About that Blue Dress
Did Michelle Obama look like such a hottie last night on Colbert or what? Sorry Barack, but I think your better half is showing you up a bit on the late night circuit now. She even got Colbert to sing to her. "L, is for the way you look at me..." Colbert looked smitten...don't be surprised to see a new pin-up poster on this penguin's wall come the Sunday comics!

Oh man. I thought you were talking about another blue dress and I was ready to blast you for it. Lol. Anyway, yeah, Michelle's dress was pretty hot.

I'm fairly sure that was deliberate, not that I'm accusing Opus of anything…
I was wondering if he was going to go the FLILF route like he did with Kucinich's wife. The interview with Elizabeth Kucinich was actually a little awkward to watch for that reason.

Guilty as charged. But I couldn't pass up the opportunity. It's nice to have some lighter dialogue today.
FLILF - I love it! LOL! Ben, you could do a whole column on that term. Good job!

Hey, that was Colbert who coined the term. Don't blame/credit me for it!

I stand corrected, guess I missed that part. So anyway, for some reason this thread made the song "Devil in a Blue Dress" (originally done by Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels) pop into my head. So I went to YouTube:

I can't say I'm much of a Springsteen fan, but this is a good cover of the tune. It turns out that this is a favorite of his. Was his endorsement today just a coincidence, or did the blue dress serve as a trigger somewhere in Bruce's subconscious?

It wasn't in this interview (thankfully), but in the one he did with Elizabeth Kucinich. (Of course, he might not have coined the term himself, but his was the first usage I am aware of.)

Correction, fellas. The "FLILF" piece was a Jason Jones bit on TDS:

Obviously I am not a late-night television expert. But thanks for the FLILF link. I just watched the whole five minutes of it. Damn you Dennis Kucinich!

Thanks for setting me straight. For the record, I truly am a little sleep deprived right now.

You trickster you. I totally fell for it and was all ready to come over and say we just didn't need to go there.
She did great last night - and Colbert's show is like the gauntlet sometimes.

But the brain tweak felt good, right? ;-)
And, yes, she ran the gauntlet well. I've seen Colbert really trip up some of the high-and-mighty. I'm probably not the only one who went into watching it with a bit of trepidation.
