Legislative achievements

avatar

A while ago, a few people kept posting an email that made it look like Hillary has spent most of her time in the Senate twiddling
her thumbs, while Obama's been some kind of legislative superhero.
Turns out it was a load of misleading rubbish, both in terms of number of bills, and 'calibre' of bills.  On average, Hillary sponsored 51.1 per year, and passed 2.7, while Obama sponsored 43, and passed 0.7 per year.

This video also explains a point as valid as the one you mentioned:

Name one bill Clinton got passed into law that has as much substance as the Legislative Transparency and Accountability Act.

My impression on the legislative record duels discussed here at TPM is that they were fair. Links were provided to both Senators' records.

The allegation was that Obama has absolutely no legislative experience. After looking into it, I realized Obama's record was a lot more substantial than it was made out to be.

Comparisons were drawn but it didn't take anything away from Clinton's record.

I don't know which discussions you're talking about, but I'm sure you're right. In numerous discussions that I saw, the email mentioned by FactCheck was posted verbatim.
The point of this post is to inform those, like me, who saw that email, but didn't see a rebuttal showing how full of crap it was.

I love your cherry picking. Now take a look a legislative careers rather than just senate records.

Obama has held ELECTED OFFICE longer than Clinton. And did not have the benefit of the Clinton Political machine and contacts to get there.

His legislative record is clear and decisive. ETHICS being numero uno. (something which Clinton is in short supply)

But you can tout her naming post offices and pushing million dollar Woodstock memorials all you want.

Here is his Illinois Senate Record
