Is Hillary Behind Arranging Rev. Wright's Press Conference yesterday?

avatar

Is this true?  My God if it is, Hillary Clinton should be ran off her campaign IMMEDIATELY!  She is sabbatoging Barack Obama (and possibly the Democratic Party's) chances of winning in November.

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright couldn't have done more damage to Barack Obama's campaign if he had tried. And you have to wonder if that's just what one friend of Wright wanted.

Shortly before he rose to deliver his rambling, angry, sarcastic remarks at the National Press Club Monday, Wright sat next to, and chatted with, Barbara Reynolds.

A former editorial board member at USA Today, she runs something called Reynolds News Services and teaches ministry at the Howard University School of Divinity. (She is an ordained minister).

It also turns out that Reynolds - introduced Monday as a member of the National Press Club "who organized" the event - is an enthusiastic Hillary Clinton supporter

On a blog linked to her Web site- www.reynoldsnews.com- Reynolds said in a February post: "My vote for Hillary in the Maryland primary was my way of saying thank you" to Clinton and her husband for the successes of Bill Clinton's presidency.

The same post criticized Obama's "Audacity of Hope" theme: "Hope by definition is not based on facts," wrote Reynolds. It is an emotional expectation. Things hoped for may or may not come. But help based on experience trumps hope every time."

In another blog entry, Reynolds gives an ever-sharper critique of Obama: "It is a sad testimony that to protect his credentials as a unifier above the fray, the senator is fueling the media characterization that Rev. Dr. Wright is some retiring old uncle in the church basement."...

Anybody that calls theirselves a reporter should immediately ask Hillary Clinton and members of her campaign, along with Bill Clinton if they had anything to do with this.  If so, Hillary Clinton should immediately be kicked out of this campaign and Super Delegates should endorse Barack Obama.  They are trying to sabbatoge the Democratic Party's chances of winning in November.

By the way, I got this story here:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/4/29/75840/7712/999/505469

coonsey,

My mother always said it and I think she is right:

"Common sense is the less common of the senses."

oh please.

avatar

Yep. You confirm what many already believe - Obama supporters are nuts who will insinuate or allege anything about the Clintons in order to get Obama elected. Stop with this vitriol. Did you see the other post about McCain winning in November. It's people like you making such unfounded accusations against the Clintons that breads such animosity. Stop it.

I am outraged at the way Clinton supporters continue to look the other way when she or someone connected to the Clinton campaign does something that in the supporter's heart they know is wrong. The false outrage is testament to the fact that, in your mind, the end justifies the means. This is the same technique that the Republicans use.

Obama's success in this campaign is evidence that most people do not want the Democratic party to be like the Republican party. If this wasn't true, then Clinton would have run away with this.

Although you may find it funny to belittle Obama supporters, you haven't considered that Clinton would need all of us in order to win. There's no way she gets the African-American vote in November. In fact, the Democratic party may be in a lot of trouble with this demographic if it overturns the delegate count. The record turnout we've seen has been due to young voters and African Americans. Will they come out for Hillary if the nomination is snatched from Obama? Young people have been easily discouraged in the past. Do you want to put your hopes on the idea that this time it'll be different?

If Hillary takes the nomination and then loses to McCain, will you stand up and take responsibility? Obama leads in delegates now and if the pace of superdelegate announcements continues (roughly split between the two candidates), he will win the nomination. But if getting your way is so important, then just keep accusing Obama supporters of being "nuts." We'll just have to ignore Clinton's demeaning statements after all those primary and caucus victories Obama has collected.

Enough's enough.

avatar

Yes to everything you said. I hope Hillary doesn't assume she can call me stupid (which she did in Ohio, and which her surrogate, Buffenbarger did in Ohio) and that I will automatically vote for her because I historically vote Democrat. Since we know that no Independents will vote for her and no Republicans will, it might be kind of important for her to hold on to previously reliable constituencies (particularly since her GE strategy (or lack thereof) is simply "Kerry states plus one.") Great effing srategy.

Ah yes like all the Clintonista flipping out about Obama (scratching his face) giving Hillary the finger??

If you think its just the Obama supporters playing 'gotcha' politics, go take a gander at No Quarter's pestilent postings that are all Obama all the time, along with the virulent comments under them to add some spice. Taylor Marsh is also a lovely Obama hit site.

avatar

After this orchatrated attack by Hillery's use of Wright, she might as well hang up her polyester suit---she has sabotaged her own chances of ever being the President of these United States.

avatar

If Clinton gets the nomination, I'm going to enjoy watching McCain kick her ass. And reading all the shrieks from her supportes about how unfair and misogynistic it is.

avatar

Well, Lawrence O'Donnell, who knows Billary personally, says it was engineered by her campaign. FYI, he's smarter than you.

avatar

Sneaky. If roles reversed and it were BO, this question would already be in the media coverage, whether the campaign had a hand in it or not. Without rules she hasnt done much to earn the benefit of the doubt, so I offer she may well have been involved.

But its a double standard. If she were involved, it would be consistent with the wreckage she has made, and the voters accepted, to date. Will we ever have a line where we fight back, and say no more?

Yes, and of course its not like the Clintons were never acquainted with Reverend Wright either. I wouldn't be surprised. But also think the Reverend Wright story is a complete dead fish, only the people in the news media seem to care, which is why they keep listening to him.

If this story is correct, it demonstrates the utter depths that people in the Clinton campaign would stoop to smear Obama. This story should be shown to ALL remaining superdelegates.

There was a reader post that's vanished from the list already (and I can't find it anymore) about Clinton's $10 million claim. The post had a link to Alexa Web traffic rankings. It's an interesting graph that doesn't give any evidence for what she says about having raised all that money online. Here's the graph:

http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/hillaryclinton.com

Just saying that there's all kinds of things surrounding her that raise questions.

But it isnt, so will you denounce and reject all of the tin-hat conspiracy rantings here?

[crickets chirping...]

avatar

Bionic soy, thank God that super delegates were created to protect the rest of us from people like you. As for you Connie even Drudge who broke the story has retracted. Next time keep your nasty thoughts to yourself.

avatar

So now, Hillary is in league with Rev. Wright to destroy Obama? Like i've said I am sure she was on the grassy knoll as well. Maybe even in Fords Theatre.....who knows!

Actually, that was McCain in Ford's Theater. Hillary isn't old enough.

Nothing in the post suggests that she is 'in leage' with Wright. What is suggested is that her supporter is using Rev Wright.

My Bad, Just reread the last paragraph. You are correct. Thay are accusing the campaign.

avatar

Not her personally you idiot, but an ardent supporter of hers. Guilt by association goes both ways.

avatar

Hillary has said herself in so many words (I'm staying in thru the convention..." that she is DESPERATE to win and if it means tearing down a fellow Dem - so be it.

avatar

Prove the accusation wrong and I'll apoligize.

avatar

Put some facts in before you "point the finger." Anyone can say anything about anybody or come up with any story about anyone - I could make one up about you. All supposition and all intended to take the focus away from the Rev W issue vs Obama. This is Obama's issue, not Clinton's issue - but the issue where it originated and belongs - with Obama. An issue he should have taken care of weeks ago but didn't until today when the national polls show Hillary had overtaken him and she's closed the gap in IN and also received the endorsement of the NC Govenor. All designed for political sake - he wants it bad, just like she does. He has not played clean, even though he claims too - with Hillary at least you know a spades a spade. With Obama - you can't tell - he constantly changes like the wind to whatever will benefit him into winning - he is not the "honorable" candidate he has been claiming to be for 15 months and now that the "rose" is off his reputation his supporters will do absolutely anything to shift the focus. This is truly a shameful and disgusting accusation with absolutely NOTHING to back it up - I won't read any more of it or be a party to it. This is what will cause Obama's downfall, if he hasn't fallen enough already. Hillary '08!

avatar

Check out the story: http://www.nydailynews.com/opinions/columnists/louis/index.html

I don't buy the conspiracy angle here, and Wright of course was responsible for his destructive, antic tone yesterday. (His Moyers' interview showed a very different side of him.) But I am glad to see that this issue is being hashed out in the print media; maybe the narrative will change and Hillary will receive some much deserved (though in this case, unwarranted) scrutiny.

avatar

Coonsey, It just dumb. Doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Your thinking Wright wants to destroy a man he obviously loves? Come on.

Wright is a man of pride who is pissed off about how he has been treated and is desparate to tell his side but obviously he isn't trying to help Hillary.

While I doubt that Clinton herself or even her main advisors had anything to do with this (but possible of course); I do believe that Barbara Reynolds may may have booked the event and invited all her friends from cable news to cover an event that wouldn't even register on their radar in order to help keep Wright in the news.

I often question the motives of people's actions and this one appears to be motivated by Barbara Reynolds desire to help Hillary Clinton.

avatar

In the world of the fanatical, everything bad that happens is the enemy's fault. There's no such thing as coincidence. People don't have independent agendas-- they are all puppets of the evil one, who controls everything from behind the scenes with uncanny prescience. In the instance at hand, simple questions such as why Wright went on Bill Moyers and why Wright spoke at the NAACP don't enter into the equation. Could it be that Wright, of his own volition as a free human being in a free country was looking for as many platforms as possible to trumpet his beliefs? But to the fanatical his agenda, his will don't matter. To understand the world you start with the premise that it's all Hillary's fault and work backwards from there.

I wonder if we'll see a sizable Clinton Foundation donation find it's way to Rev. Wright sometime in January...

avatar

After reading this looks like the loonies are out. Hillary and Wright sure after Obama went to his church for 20 years. There's no advantage for Wright to have Hillary win. If you keep making up stories like this you'll continue to turn Hillary and other supporters who are potential Obama ones off.

It was the Clinton campaign that poisoned the well!

avatar

Why shouldn't a Hillary backer throw such an event? Hillary and Wright are friends, Wright came to White House at their invitation. The Clintons and Wright go way back, and they should, Wright is a good man, and a good Christian leader in this country.

So I say good job, Hillary, for welcoming Rev. Wright to you campaign and by doing so, putting an end to this Republican smear tactic your campaign had been participating in.

Now, please explain to us your connection to Hamas and Farrakhan, which is a legitimate concern concerning your electability.

So this is what a campaign looks like going down the drain. Soon now.

Billy the ass back on the prowl.

Yup.

Billy, check out last posts on Gomez. And many thanks.

I don't think you really believe that.

Posts like this make people say crazy things.

We all know it was really the _Rodham brothers_ who were behind the Rev. going public, not really Hillary, literally speaking.

Wright doesn't want to "destroy" Obama, but he has not mastered his own ego. AND he is not looking at the bigger picture, here. Which is unfortunate.

OMG...this was posted at DK and the author wasn't laughed off the site or banned for nutso conspiracy theory? Because this is hands down crazy leaping non-logic. There's not even anything there. Embarrassed to be an Obama supporter with this crap floating around.

avatar

Why should you feel embarrassed? Connie Manes should feel embarrassed, Wright should be embarrassed, Louis should be embarrassed and all the fruitcakes, political neophytes, morons and space aliens who push this lunacy should be embarrassed, but you did nothing to embarrass yourself.

Connie needs to stop wearing the one quart saucepan on her head and switch to the more commodious two quart saucepan - sure, it lets in more evil signals from her enemies, but it doesn't constrict the blood flow to the head as much.

And for the love of God, Connie, wear the handle in the back, when it dangles in front of your eyes it tends to make you look crazy.

avatar

Uhhhhh, did you read the article before typing?

avatar

btw.....Hillary is under your bed..muhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

fabooj,

The story didn't come from DK. It's from a column by Errol Louis in the NY Daily News.

So one guy wrote an opinion piece about this? We have to stop mistaking op-eds as gospel.

And look, even if this woman did ask Wright to speak because she thought it would help Hillary (which we have ZERO proof that she did), Wright did not have to accept. The man is clearly his own man, as evidenced by the fact that he doesn't seem much concerned that his rhetoric may be damaging his "friend's" shot at the Presidency. He's making himself sound like a selfish narcissist who got his feelings hurt. I respect his right to speak out in defense of himself, and I thought the Moyers interview did a good job of it. The appearances since then not so much. No one is capable of putting words in his mouth. Not to mention the fact that this was only one of three recent appearances.

A conspiracy this is not.

I totally believe it - in fact, the person at the press conference yesterday wasn't even Wright, it was Hillary in a clever disguise. Ask yourself this, why have you never seen Hillary and Hitler in the same room? Or Hillary and Pol Pot, for that matter? This needs to be explored by someone who doesn't have any fillings in their molars, which Hillary uses to monitor subversive thoughts.

avatar

I can't help but wonder what Hillary supporters would think of Hillary if it were proven to be true that she or her campaign were behind this.

Would they denounce AND reject her? Probably not...

Politico has picked up on the story with some additional information. Personally, I think it's improbable that the Clinton campaign was directly involved in this, but I think it says something about the way that she has run her campaign that people are so willing to believe that she's capable of such a stunt.

avatar

Yes, this is all true. She borrowed Penguin's hypnotizing umbrella and was at the back of the room twirling it at Wright - "must say stupid shit, must say stupid shit, must say stupid shit..."

Well, lets see. A Clinton supporter, who happens to be a member in good standing of the press, happened to talk to Reverend Wright at the Press Luncheon.

Yeah, I guess that is all we need to look for a conspiracy! Quick, pass the smelling salts!

Is this true? Why should I bother to investigate? Why should I employ an ounce of my valuable critical faculties? I need to save them all for nailing Greg Sargent, Fox, and the MSM conspiracy!

I know. I'll post it. The truth will be confirmed by recommendations from all the brilliant critical readers at TPM, who would never let raging passion interfere with good sense. Or vice-versa.

What if it is true? My God if it is, Hillary Clinton should be ran[sic] off her campaign and imprisoned in an Austrian basement for 24 years with the very Reverend Wright. IMMEDIATELY!

She is sabbatoging[sic] Barack Obama. She is sabbatoging[sic] the Democratic Party. She is sabbatoging[sic] my spelling!!!!

Anybody that calls theirselves[sic] a reporter should immediately (IMMEDIATELY!) ask Hillary Clinton and members of her campaign, along with Bill Clinton if they had anything to do with this. I mean NOW, people who call theirselves[sic] reporters. What are you waiting for? If you don't call her, then that will prove that you're part of the MSM conspiracy. But if you do call her, don't believe her. Because she's a LIAR!! If you call her, and she says no, she should immediately (IMMEDIATELY!) be kicked out of this campaign and Super Delegates should endorse Barack Obama and give him a massage. And a happy ending. Because Barack Obama deserves a happy ending. And a smoke.

Don't let Hillary sabbatoge[sic] Barack Obama's happy ending!! IMMEDIATELY!!!!

That's just sic[sic].

les,

In the interest of keeping our facts straight, she did more than just talk to Wright at the luncheon. She was the event organizer.

avatar

i am an obama supporter and i suggest we make sure get our facts straight before running with false allegations in a last ditch effort to help our nominee (hehehehe). he is the nominee!

i say this is hogwash until we can get some hard core proof. rev wright is pissed with obama and this is his way of paying obama back for repudiating his negativity during the race speech.

obama can't prevent him from talking. obama should stay on message. he already distanced himself from the rev and to make matters worse, the rev is an EX-pastor. this further illustrates the point that we go to church not to worship the man on the pulpit, but to worship in greater numbers. the ministry itself has done some great things and obviously it influenced obama to help others less fortunate. it is not equally true that obama shares the same exact views as his pastor. politics and religion are too different things. this is a non-story that the media, republicans and hrc are trying to keep on life support. this is good. come november, this will be 100% vetted! it will only remain an issue for those who would have never voted for obama anyway for reasons beyond his control...hint hint.

avatar

I think we can make the grassy knoll thing stick on her if we just say it enough times

No, it says something about the people who are so credulous and conspiracy-minded. Please see this study: http://www.jstor.org/pss/2111381

avatar

You know what? I think Hillary saw a young Obama twenty years ago and suggested that he attend Rev. Wright's church. The Clintons are so powerful they were able to forsee his eventual rise to power and thus sowed the seeds of destruction from the beginning.

C'mon. How stupid are you?

Wright clearly is enjoying his moment in the sun. And if he had stopped at the Moyer's interview he would have been OK. If he had stopped with just the speech at the PRess Club he might have been OK. It was clearly his choice to act like a preening fool during the Q&A.

avatar

Ahhhhhhhhhhh that Hillary. wascally wabbit...too clever by half. We're really talking the Anti Christ here. Last days....save yourselves....

avatar

I wonder if anyone else on the dais has a preference in the upcoming election. There is the chance that not all Clinton, Obama or McCain supporters are disreputable.

The timing is what gives me pause. I mean why now for Rev. Wright? He could have waited a week and the primary would be over. However just when Hillary needs a huge lifeline, Wright decides to break his silence and all the networks are lining up...

avatar

Precisely. Timing is everything.

Reynolds could have arranged that conference before the PA primaries...she didn't.

What they did was make a media blitz. The chair of the NAACP is also a Clinton supporter.

News of Wright was out to the black intelligentisa BEFORE the rest of the press...notice Cornel West was sitting there. Reynolds and Wright invited everyone black they knew associated with the press..including janitors and they were told to come an hour early so they could have the main floor seating.

The regular mainstream press was in the balcony!
Wright especially liked that touch since he had to sit in the balcony during Jim Crow segregation.
Wright was being utterly contemptuous of the press for their having caricatured him. Notice he kept commenting about the'working press'? That was because of the folks he and Reynolds had invited and told to come an hour earlier. This was a planned event.

The timing was NOW because Wright was right for the picking. He has a huge ego, as do most black clergy and having retired he is no longer in the limelight. Wright also knew having been univited to Obama's Presidential announcement, he would not be invited to give the benediction for the Obama's should they make it to the WH. He was going to simply be the retired minister. Wright was happy to have this moment in the spotlight and he took it. The black clergy backed him because of the political power shift that Obama has created which makes diminishes the power of the black ministry in national politics.

This is classic old lion vs. new lion...with the 'black church' thrown in the mix.

avatar

Actually the "former chair" of the NAACP is a Clinton supporter, not the "current chair" of the NAACP - if you're going to endorse conspiracy theories at least try to do it with some grace and a little fact - thanks!

Connie, with all due respect. I enjoy your posts but this is a bit beyond the pale.

That's not all that she's been up to. Check this out:

http://tpmcafe.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/2008/04/is-hillary-behind-my-brain-dys.php

avatar

G, glossin yourself is shameless. Are you sure your not Hillary?

Maybe I am Hillary. I'm certainly shameless.

He is Hillary, as far as we know.

I've definitely seen Hillary wear a jacket the exact colour of Genghis's shirt. I believe John Edwards called her on it!

Also, I've never seen Hillary and Genghis in the same room at the same time.

AND it's mighty interesting that Sen. Clinton defended Wright and went after McCain on this issue. It's as if she wanted to be out in front.

avatar

Wow. Not only is the Clinton campaign devious, they can see into the future. You've got to be kind of impressed with the fact that they knew all of this was going to happen two years ago, when Reynolds first pitched the idea of inviting Wright to the Press Club. Unfortunately, Wright wasn't considered newsworthy at the time, so Hillary's evil plan failed. But luckily it was revived when the Press Club decided he was now newsworthy (imagine, inviting somone who's been in the news to the Press Club. Who woulda thunk?) And luckily everything worked out when it was decided that Reynolds was the best person to contact him, seeing as how she teaches religion at Howard University, and is a big supporter of Wright.

You've got to be impressed at the deviousness of the Clinton campaign.

And now they're going so far as to suggest that Obama supporters spreading this conspiracy theory are whackjobs who are so ready to believe whatever they read on the Internet, and so unbalanced by the implosion of Obama's campaign, that they will accuse Hillary of anything. What nonsense.

GuyGene takes the cake, though: "I think it says something about the way that she has run her campaign that people are so willing to believe that she's capable of such a stunt."

Right, it says something about the Clinton campaign that Obama supporters, who have been saying the most viole, hateful stuff about Clinton, will now believe still another crazy ass rumor. I mean, it's not like it says anything about Obama supporters.

ChrisO: GuyGene takes the cake, though: "I think it says something about the way that she has run her campaign that people are so willing to believe that she's capable of such a stunt."

I think what I said is perfectly defensible. Please note that I also said that I thought it was improbable that the Clinton campaign was involved in any shenanigans in this case. But Hillary's reputation as someone who will do or say anything to get elected is well-earned.

I actually started out with a huge amount of respect for HRC and would have had no problem in voting for her, but watching her as she has employed such an underhanded, scorched-earth policy in an attempt to destroy a fellow Democrat, handing the GOP all the ammunition they need for the fall, has left me completedly turned off.

avatar

Hillary didn't need you anyway. Most of the underhanded things she's been accused of she didn't actually do, some of her supporters (just as some of Obama's supporters also), have been a little over zealous - I agree - but she didn't actually do them - all supposition. And the only reason she gets accused is because of people like you.

kimba: Most of the underhanded things she's been accused of she didn't actually do.

-She didn't say that Obama wasn't qualified to be Commander-in-Chief, but McCain was?

-She didn't pad her resume by making shit up (Bosnia, Ireland, et al)?

-She didn't make a 3 am ad that implied that your children were at risk if you vote for Obama and another one that implied that Osama bin Laden was gonna git ya if you voted for Obama?

-She didn't mock Obama's message of hope and inclusiveness?

-She didn't make a thousand excuses to try to minimize Obama's wins?

Sorry, I guess I must have imagined all that.

avatar

No matter how desperately anyone might wish to drag Hillary down with the Rev. Wright, the man belongs to Obama.

It is bs as usual.

Check Politico and do an update.

avatar

Read Errol Louis's column in the NY Daily News. Makes it quite clear that the Hillary-supporting Dr. Reynolds -- who, by the way, is a big time homophobe (go check her blog if you don't believe me) -- ARRANGED for Wright's visit. This was no casual conversation.

avatar

Also, I suggest you check where everyone was sitting. Dr. Reynolds was right up there on the dias, next to Wright.

avatar

Hope more than a few of you are still checking out the comments to this post because you might be interested to know that Barbara Reynolds posted a defense of Wright on March 2nd. Seems her desire to have him at the event was based more on her feelings for him than her support of Clinton.

http://reynoldsworldnews.blogspot.com/2008/03/pastor-jeremiah-wright.html

See, this is why I cannot respect the average Obama supporter. IF I thought Connie Manes was just a lone lunatic conspiracist with more energy than sense, I would not question the Obama campaign at all.

However, when more than half of the Obama supporters who post on this site are this eager to smear Clinton that they out slime the Wall Street Editorial Board. When democrats are worse than Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Bill O'REilly put together, well, you know something is rotten at the center.

I have said it before - Obama supporters act more like Nader supporters than Democrats - at least here they do. If you are an Obama supporter who was a Nader supporter in 2000, THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GORE AND BUSH!!!!

and a vast difference between Clinton and McCain. In fact, if you were honest you would recognize that Clinton is to the left of Obama on progressive economic policies - but then, accuracy is not your strong point, is it? if it were, you would never post such tripe as this.

avatar

Way to go Oregon! I just read your comment on the Clinton supporter post and felt you said exactly what I have been feeling for a very long time about TPM. Now you've nailed it on this conspiracy crap and on those who are so eager to jump on it. All it took for me to find the above link to the post by Reynolds that was defending Wright was about 20 seconds with Google.

A large majority of those commenting on this site need to remember what is so great about the blogs and the internet-the ability to hear different opinions, read about different items in the news and follow links in the search of the truth. Remember when we used to be so proud of taking part in the Reality Based Community?

avatar

Reynolds's name is dirt--maybe she thought she would be in Hillery's imaginary presidential cabinet.

avatar

I hope that the Obama supporters find an outlet for their comedic genius after November, Maybe they could organize "We're All Bozos on this Bus, Redux".

I can hardly wait.

speaking of comedic genius

Eh. I think it's much ado about nothing. She organizes events, supports Clinton, and also knows that everyone wants to see what Wright will utter next. Nothing exciting here, folks.

avatar

Moyers, The Press Club, NAACP all arranged by Clinton? I guess the Obamabots think a Clinton supporter coached Wright about what to say?

Ben. Could there be any more evidence of the Blind-Eye, Biased Jumper thing?

ChrisO, Oregon, Teresa, where have you been? It's been lonely here.

avatar

The accusation that HRC's campaign is involved is hardly unfounded. The press Club, where Wrights most insane performance was organized by an "avid Clinton supporter".

avatar

"When democrats are worse than Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Bill O'REilly put together, well, you know something is rotten at the center."

This coming from a supporter of a candidate that's been using O'Reilly, Hannity and Limbaugh TACTICS against her fellow Democrat since DAY ONE -- is laughable.

avatar

And the facts to back up this "conspiracy theory" come from where? I'm surprised Obama supporters can even sleep at night they spend so much time working on the lastest conspiracy theory - as if Clinton has the time for this kind of trivial crap - give me a break here! Its wearing me out...

avatar

Ok I read more, I am now eating crow over my rants of an HRC consprarcy to get Wright on the air. MMMMMMM crow.

I apologize to whomever I may have insulted.

I like "MMMMMMM Crow."

avatar

For some reason, Barbara Reynold's blog post about her reasons for supporting Hillary Clinton disappeared from her website this morning. A buzzflasher retrieved it:

http://www.buzzflash.com/articles/alerts/349

Why Rev Reynolds would delete her post is curious as there's nothing terribly inflammatory there, IMO.

I was just going to post that link! Indeed, why would that one post be deleted?

Lawrence O'Donnell and Lynn Sweet from the Chicago Tribune had a heated discussion about this on Dan Abram's show this evening.
O'Donnell was insistant Hillary's supporter was behind the Wright appearance and intimated nefarious intent. Sweet disagreed with his assessment, the two of them went at it a bit until Dan intervened.

This press club appearance was organized by Barbara Reynolds who is a strong Hillary supporter. You'd have to be a jackass not to know that that appearance could only do damage. She also has made disparaging comments about Obama's distancing himself from Wright in his historic race speach and no doubt groused with Wright about that and perhaps stoked some flames. It seems like she had a an agenda but the bottom line is that Wright decided to do it. An entire weekend media blitz culminating in a sometimes angry and sarcastic interlude with the press. What's up with the timing? He's hurt by the race speach? That speech was two months ago, why come out now at this pivotal point? I'm still dumbfounded that he would have the audacity to damage the hope of all of us, including about 90% of African Americans. I don't know what his personal agenda is here but he apparently is an incredibly selfish man.

Bademus,

This was an orchestrated hit on Barack. HRC's nefarious teachery is going down in plain sight.
Plain f**king sight.

avatar

I saw the exchange between Sweet and O'Donnell and was surprised how adamant he was...not his usual style.

This concluding sentence from Reynold's March 17 post defending Wright resonates with the most damaging statements Wright made about Obama:

"While Sen. Obama may have to distance himself from his pastor to play the game of politics, it is unwise for any of us to burn the bridges that brought us across."

http://reynoldsworldnews.blogspot.com/

"I saw the exchange between Sweet and O'Donnell and was surprised how adamant he was...not his usual style."

Thank you! I'm glad someone else picked up on that. Thanks for the link....going there.

lally,

That sentence AND Reynold's blog that day was at the very least foreboding.
