Inspired by "Hillary in da House" (h/t to A Missouri Voter) I give you:

The opportunity to offer your favorite worst song of all time.  To get you started, think of these:

We had joy we had fun we had seasons in the sun....

You're having my baby...What a lovely....

But I've never been to me...

For those of you over 40, some of these should make you cringe.  (Ok, they make me cringe, at least).

But just for fun, offer your own in the comments...

And if you want to share the pain, click recommend.

When I was writing my graduate thesis, we had no internet connection in our house (too costly on a grad stipend) so I used to do all my work on my laptop in a cafe with wi-fi near our house and the d@#^ highschoolers who worked behind the counter used to tune the radio to a station which played that stupid "my humps" song at least once every half-hour. I still start twitching whenever I think of those days...

I hate the "Had a Bad Day" song. Although, I guess it's appropriate during the primary season for the losing candidate.

I'm gonna find my baby gonna hold him tight gonna have a little afternoon delight....

Ah Sugar... Ah honey honey.... you are my candy girl....

Timothy...Timothy...

In the year 2525...

The sailor said Brandi, you're fine girl.. what a good wife you would be...

Muskrat Muskrat...

That's the night that lights went out in Georgia...

Yes, I love Pina Coladas!

Ooooo I hear laughter in the rain...

I don't even know you, but I think I'm not ever going to be able to forgive you for this.

Clearly, we came of age during the same crappy era in popular music.

I thought I had successfully banished "Afternoon Delight" from my brain, but alas, no.

I deeply apologize... really... I know I shouldn't have gone there, but... like a scab you just have to rip off... Ouch!

Yeah, there was that era of AM Radio that just sucked...

I'll only say Olivia Newton-John.

And thanks for the "distraction" from all of the more "serious" stuff...

I have not read the comments and I'm not gonna -

But my vote for worst song of all time is Patches. And if you're too young to remember it, count yourself lucky.

I'll have to go google who did it - I can't remember. It was very vomit inducing.

"Patches... I'm dependin' on you son..."

and we can add:

"My name is Michael. I've got a nickel, I've got a nickel shiny and new... I'm gonna buy me all kinds of candy, that's what I'm gonna do..."

Dickey Lee did Patches and "Tell Laura I love her, tell Laura I'll miss her..."

Oh, thanks for the Laura bit. (I don't know if I know Patches, and I'm not going to find out).

Now I have the "Tell Laura" bit rattling around. Better than "Skyrockets delight!!"...

"Patches" was Clarence Carter. "Tell Laura I Love Her" was some guy named Ray Peterson.

And the ever-wonderful Etta James did (and wrote!) "I'd Rather Go Blind!"

Oh, and worst has to be a tie between "Having My Baby" and "Seasons in the Sun". Although "The Night Chicago Died" is running close...
