So, he now needs what 289 delegates to clinch the nomination?

Only 2? I thought it was more like 4 or 5 by now (assuming 50/50 split of the remaining pledged delegates, IIRC).

I don't know. I am not really up on the latest count. I am happy that people are not shying away from him right now.

Thank You, God! The superdelegates are seeing the light!
What is this? 5 to 1 for Obama since Pennsylvania? And don;t count the add-on for Clinton in NH...that's a different kind of delegate.

You are good jdw!!!
This is indeed a good way to start the week, and it is good to see that the SDs don't pay attention to the media!!!
Hopefully more will come this week.
So I am wondering if these news are shared in Indiana and NC!!!

Is anyone worried that the superdelegates are coming in too late. When Obama had the momentum, they could have ended. I'm worried that if they try to finish this when she seems to having some success, HRC will create a stink and this will harden her supporters even more.
Maybe I'm just worrying too much. Hopefully, Obama can finish this soon.

They cannot look like they are pushing her out. They have to let her and her supporters see that she is getting a fair shake.
As for late success, it is overrated. Catching a late wave should not override the other states that came before unless there is a serious issue, not some bumps and bruises along the way. These days, no one can be elected president without a rough ride. It will be a little more rough for Obama because he is black. I do not necessarily attribute it to sheer racism or anyhting, I think that it has a lot to do with being such a drastic change for the American people. I think it would be just as rough for a hispanic, asian, native american, or any woman who isn't a Clinton. Although Hillary has gotten some bad press, she has not gotten the treatment that another woman in her position might get.

The Wright issue and the changing polls have them frozen.

Since PA, this is 5 to 1.
So based on the latest CNN numbers:
BO - 1491 + 234 +1 (SD of today)
2024 - 1726 = 298, so he need 298
so based on the next 3 primaries: Guam, NC, and Indiana
he should pick up around 100 delegates
then he should pick another 100 delegates from the other primaries, and then he would need another 98 SD
This is based on him winning
NC (56%), Oregon (56%) montana (55%) and south Dakota (55%)
losing IN (45%) losing KY (40%), losing WV (40%), losing Puerto Rico (42%)
and a 50% - 50% in guam

I always have liked Bingaman ever since I voted from him in his first run for the Senate...many moons ago when I lived in Albuquerque. Now I have another reason. Thank you, Senator Bingaman.

If they split the remaining primaries 50/50. HRC needs 73% of the undelcared superdelegates and Obama 31%.
