Hillary vs. Obama: Who Cares?
It's fitting that today, we should be reminded that George W. Bush is the most unpopular president in the history of modern polling. Gallup says: 69% disapproval, 28% approval.
This is a great reminder that it doesn't matter -- no, it doesn't matter -- who wins the Democratic nomination. Hillary or Obama, who gives a damn; either will beat McCain.
Whoever gets the nomination, the message will be the same: "Want four more years of a George W. Bush presidency? Four more years of the same economy, the same foreign policy? Then vote for McCain. Want something different? Vote for me."
It's a winning message, no matter who delivers it. (Either would be smart enough to use it.) As soon as the Democratic race is over -- even if it's not until August -- the nominee will start delivering the message, and McCain's numbers will fall. No matter how damaged the eventual Dem nominee is, he or she will not be 69% damaged. And McCain is too close to Bush to separate himself from that 69% disapproval.
We'll have a Democrat in the White House come January. I am done caring about Hillary vs. Obama. What a blessed relief!

Would you rather a president who vows to "obliterate" Iran to garner votes or a president who has vowed to engage with Iran?
While I certainly would vote for Clinton over McCain, I think there are vast differences in the approaches of Clinton and Obama.
Of course I think the question is moot as to who the nominee will be. The remaining uncommitted unpledged (so called super) delegates, unlike much of the citizenry in general, understand exactly what the Clinton campaign is up to in trying to render Obama unelectable.

Yes, there are differences between Clinton and Obama, but those differences pale in comparison to the differences between both Democrats and McCain.
It's like comparing Coke, Pepsi, and antifreeze. Personally, I prefer Coke over Pepsi, but I'd drink Pepsi over antifreeze any day.

I think I'd go with Dr. Pepper, Ginger Ale, and anti-freeze in the analogy, but your point is still apt.

You are correct and Obama is off his message of a new kind of politician and running scared.
He will lose and Clinton will win the general easily.
We will clean up w's mess and get this country back in the right direction.
She will have a Dem rubber stamp Congress.

yes, it's getting to the who cares point? Not that I don't still care who wins the nomination, I do care. But I doubt I have ever been so unenthusiastic about a campaign -- and at the beginning I was more enthusiastic than ever, so proud of the strong and capable candidates we had running - a field where nearly everyone was a viable and respectable candidate.
I realize that my enthusiasm has been waning and that I care less and less. Trying to find out why, since I find the candidates both still likable and competent I realized that the source of my discontent is this place and the viciousness and venom coming from the Obama supporters here.
I looked at the comments on Bill Clinton's played-didn't play the race card thing and saw post after post after post of sheeple piling on with nothing new to add, just unable to resist the opportunity to spit on Bill Clinton. no one added anything to the conversation, no new info, no insight, just more hate, hate, hate.
If I am going to retain any enthusiasm at all for either candidate I have got to stop seeing how incredibly childish and juvenile the supporters are. People who see one candidate as near perfect and the other as the personification of evil are just plain ridiculous and it depresses me that they seem to be representative of a significant sector of democrats, such stark and unnuanced thinking is the kind of mental weakness I associate with the fundamentalist rightwingers - not with Democrats.
I am sure I won't be missed. You have no room for a Clinton supporter here anyway.

Look, people vote. A choice is made. That's our system. Any one of us may not agree with a given election result(sheesh, look at the last two cycles), but that's the way it works. Why take your frustrations over the fortunes of your candidate out on those who see things differently and choose to support Obama? Becoming so disenchanted that you want to pack-up and go home does not serve your own long-term interests.
