Hillary Needs -- Just $5

avatar

Guess Hillary and Bill are getting a bit desperate.  They are now willing to take just a $5 donation.  Normally that email amount BEGINS with $25.

Next we'll be seeing emails asking for $1.00

The people who count Hillary out of this race don't know her the way you and I do.

Do we have an uphill battle to fight? You bet we do. We face an opponent who has a virtually unlimited war chest, who is breaking records to spend whatever it takes to win.

But I know that with Hillary leading the way and your strong support behind her, we can get the job done and we can win.

Hillary doesn't care what the pundits say. She's listening to you. And that's why you need to speak out loud and clear and tell her today -- just 11 days until the next big primary in Pennsylvania -- that she has your support. As little as $5 can make a difference. If you haven't given online before, now is the time.

It may or may not be a sign of desperation.

Either way, as an Obama supporter, asking anyone for $5 or even less isn't something I would ever look down on.

It's a little arrogant.

Going from asking for at least $25 down to $5 seems like they are saying, "Hey, you don't want to give that much, that's ok, how about $5?"

It's as though their supporters are either tapped out OR leary of donating to a lost cause.

"No? How about $1? For the bus? Can you at least give me a cigarette? Sure you do, I can see a pack in your back pocket. Come on, man! Just one. Asshole."

That is such a CUTEEEE Baby picture - your kid Allsburg? How old?

In the picture he's about two months. In reality, about four months.

He has those eyes that make you want to smile but still wonder "what is he thinking about?" LOL

Hope he's as enjoyable as he looks.

The thing about $5 online donations is that by the time you take out the processing fees, there is very little left of the contribution. The fact that they're actually soliciting $5 donations is interesting.

"As little as $5 could make a difference"

That sounds like some sort of anti-hunger ad or the "sponsor a kid" programs like the one that Sally Struthers used to be the spokersperson for...

Or UNICEF - "10 cents can vaccinate a child against measles"...

It does sound a little desparate - why are they doing this?
1) The bulk of their donors have maxed out
2) They are trying to sign on new donors
3) The new donors they are shooting for now know that they made $109 Million in the past 6 years, and are thinking - "...and you are asking me for money? Fat chance!"
4) They are trying to lower their average donation so they can seem more like Obama ($96 average donation in March)

All in all - pretty amusing.
