Great News! Race just got shorter: Obama snaps up Arizona Superdelegate!
Arizona Superdelegate Charlene Fernandez Endorses Barack Obama for President
PHOENIX, AZ — Today newly elected Arizona Democratic Party First Vice Chairwoman and Superdelegate Charlene Fernandez endorsed Senator Barack Obama for president.
“Senator Barack Obama is strengthening the Democratic Party by bringing in new voters, young and old, into the process. I believe Senator Obama has the best ability to win the White House in November and lead this country forward.”
Fernandez, who was elected as first vice chairwoman of the Arizona Democratic Party today, is Senator Obama’s 241st Superdelegate endorsement. Senator Obama is now 290 delegates away from winning the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination.

Hopefully he can pick up a few more over the next few days and go into the NC & Indiana primaries with some "super" momentum.

Indeed. I should note that Hillary did pick up a superdelegate earlier today.

If you have Kathy Sullivan from New Hampshire in mind, she's an add-on. She endorsed Hillary last year, but was picked as an add-on today. As I understand it, because of the way add-ons are appointed, Obama is expected to have a substantial lead over Hillary in that category when the final totals are in. They're picked based on the number of pledged delegates each candidate won in each state. The real battle is for the other superdelegates.
Speaking of superdelegates, here's an interesting graph .

This seems to be one of the new Clinton spin tactics. Announce add-ons as if they are "regular" supers to simulate momentum. I'm waiting for her to start sending press releases to announce the names of individual pledged delegates.

Can I ask what an add-on is? I have been curious for a while about that. So they aren't as-yet-unnamed superdelegates?

Have a look at Fly on the Wall's excellent blog post on the subject.

Thanks - That graph says it all. Where's the much stated "momentum" for Hillary?

I went news surfing to find out who she picked up and instead found this interesting article about two PA superdelegates who are leaning to Obama. One is pretty much there, the other says he wants to wait until June, but with all the pressure coming to bear, wonder if both might come forward sooner?

I predict as to the other Arizona uncommitteds, either Obama gets both, or longshot, they split the other two. Splitting at this point is almost as good. If they all decide, it's done.
