Mitch Landrieu won the endorsement race too.
but he lost because the R's depressed the white vote in Lakeview.
If the Scalise/Burns thing shows anything, the R's aren't scared to get ugly. Did you see those abortion commercials? puh-leeze

Well, I'm hoping we can overcome that by sheer effort ;) Gilda's been going door to door in all the parishes in the district for almost a year. The biggest issues are that a) the local news rarely covers democratic challengers and b) Gilda's having trouble raising the funds without the assistance of the local Democratic party. The Dem's have basically written 1st off as unmovable, whereas the R's are raising money hand over fist. Well, if Gilda does win, it'll be by the sheer power of the grassroots, which is no mean accomplishment. A girl can dream, can't she?
