Even Staunch Hillary Supporters Believe That Obama Will Be Elected
Even Congress Emanuel Cleaver, whom I believe is a super-del that is pledged to Hillary is saying that he belives that Obama will be the next President.
With friends like this...
WASHINGTON (AP) — A congressman backing Hillary Rodham Clinton says white voters are supporting Barack Obama based on the view that he is articulate and his election would allow the nation "to get this boogeyman called race behind us."
Missouri Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, who is black, told the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. that Obama "is articulate. In the black tradition, he would probably be mediocre."
"For white Americans, it's like, this guy can speak," Cleaver said in the radio interview first aired Sunday. "If you put him on a level with a lot of other African-American public speakers, he may not even measure up."
But Cleaver also conceded in the interview that he thinks Obama will win the White House. "I will be stunned if he's not the next president of the United States."
Cleaver has remained a strong supporter of Clinton despite pressure from other black leaders and many of his constituents to switch allegiance to Obama. He was not immediately available Tuesday to discuss his comments.

Really? Obama will NEVER be elected POTUS. Reverend Wright... Hillary 20008 or McCain 2008 (if not Hillary). F-Obama!

Okay, I know I shouldn't feed the trolls, but...I have one word for you. "Bosnia." At least Obama's got an answer to the Wright thing - he gave a genuine and moving and brilliant speech. There is no excuse for Hillary's Bosnia lie. If Hillary is the nominee, we will see that video of that 8 year old girl reading a poem and kissing Hillary's cheek with the voiceover of Hillary saying "I remember landing under sniper fire." Then McCain will say, "Do you really want another lying Clinton in the White House?" He'll win by 10 points. If she is the nominee, the Dems will have no chance.

20,008? I don't know if she'll make it that long.
And: "to get this boogeyman called race behind us."
??
I don't fucking think so.

If she does (and I do), I'll vote for her. She'll definitely have the experience angle locked up by then!

Evidently, it's hard to get a measure of what the real world is like when you get all your political "news" from blogs.
She continues to do well in the polls (those are done with people who answer the phone installed in their homes, not the phones in their pockets). That is because she actually has positions that she has thought about herself and worked on herself, as opposed to positions written out by campaign hacks for public consumption.
The real shame about all this is that Obama supporters have turned out to be so intellectually worthless that there is about zero chance he will actually accomplish anything even if elected. Who's going to support him? A bunch of ESPN-stupified drones who can't even tell you what his positions are? ("Uh, isn't he for Notre Dame?")
"Call me in four years, I'll vote for you again." -- Obama-bot exit poll comment.
Long time party members (like myself) will left to sweep up the confetti and all the dog dirt left behind by the campaign for "change you can believe in" (but won't do anything about).
I don't feel badly about all the pundits that are going to be looking stupid in four years (should he be elected President). They get paid to say whatever they want, without consequences. I feel badly for a nation that will be only marginally less screwed up than it was when President Obama took the pledge. Although it might not seem like it, we deserve better.
Thanks.

Wow, I think anyone reading your comment will lose IQ points for just having done so.

Why is it that you believe Hillary's positions were not put together by hacks? You think she sat down at a laptop and came up with everything on her own?

Mp..you are not serious...are you? From my experience the balking away from Obama really is from those 50 years and older croud and I took some time to really study the issue so I can understand this resistance.
I came to the conclusion after watching this whole primary play out, that this about Fear. I watched as Bill call this a fairy tale, I watched as Gerald Ferraro made those thoughtless comments, I watched as Bob Johnson (BET owner) call Obama stupid names, I watched Bill Press talk dismissive of Obama. Then I began to look at all the people in the Democratic party who are not warming up to Obama and most of them are the old party leaders. The fat cats and the ones who have controlled the party for about 20 years. The James Carvilles, the Lanny Davis and the list goes on.
This is not just a primary about a nominee of the Democratic party, this is a fight for the future and soul of the Democratic Party. The Democratic party was made up of old people as our majority. The Democratic party had stopped attracting the young, they were going Republican as the party of the future.
Here comes Obama and for once they are energized, they want to be involved and they believe in him. They do not believe in the Democratic party they believe in Obama. They believe in the future he stands for and the ideals that the young stand for. This is the future of the Democratic party, this is where we go from here. This new generation will carry the torch of the party of Jefferson. This young generation are the future of America and they want a place at the table and they see that Obama will provide that seat and be inclusive. This is what the old party leaders fail to see, they fail to see that if the party is to servive the party has to grow.
Obama's policies are more in line with the new majority then the policies of the last 16 years. They are more inline with how the majority sees the world and the issues we face. Remember the internet is far reaching and it is the place that most people get their news from (2-1 margin). Most younger people are well traveled and more diverse in their associations. They understand more about the world then those who claim to be experts. These are the new leaders of our country and as the baby boomers retire and are resting in nursing homes these are the ones who will herald a new era for America.
These old leaders are just scared because they see no place for them in this new Party. They see no function or any status for them any longer and they are afraid. So afraid they are willing to split and wreck the party because they see they have nothing to loose.
