Early turnout in PA
In my precinct in western Lancaster County, I was the 44th Dem to vote, and it was 8:28 a.m. My precinct is overwhelmingly GOP, but 44th for that time is a fairly good turnout.

Let's not get carried away.
We've actually seen similar turnout patterns before. A huge early morning surge from all the super-engaged eager beavers. Then mid-morning doldrums, as those folks head to work. Lunchtime picks up again, and evenings are strong. But the danger here is extrapolating out from the early morning surge - that if it's four times the usual turnout for the time slot, it'll hold up all day, for example. What we're seeing isn't just more voters, but more enthusiastic voters. And that's changing the tempo of turnout, pushing more voters to head to the polls first thing.
