Deja-vu?
Is it just me or is it increasingly harder to hold a rational conversation with Hillary supporters? I'm beginning to feel like I'm talking to the die-hard Bushies back in '00-'04, they won't listen to any rational arguement, they cite incorrect facts and just cover their ears when they hear something true and negative about their candidate. Hillary may be conservative in some aspects but why do her supporters need to turn into neo-cons too?

Ive been wondering this since I began following all of this.
I try not to generalize a group of people, but it is seriously hard to even think that this country will even be around by the time my children are my age. They(and I dont mean the trolls), I mean the people that are actually trying to argue but when you ask a question, they act like they didnt read it, and switch the subject and THEN act like it is your fault. And why dont they ever stick around for a Conversation? Not just drop a comment and run off(and again, not talking about the Trolls).
It is quite maddening and I dont even know where to begin.
I was thinking of making my first blog on TPM something with the title of "How the rural communities are keeping the rest of America from progressing."

I've not been able to get a straight answer out of a certain kind of die-hard Clinton supporter when I ask
Why is a yes vote on Kyl-Liberman ok?
A yes vote on using cluster bombs ok?
A yes vote on Iraq war ok?
Talk of "obliterating" Iran ok?
"As far as I know..." ok?
Ad infinitum.
It's like all I get is (flame retardant undies on): "La la la la Mary had a little lamb la la la vagina la la la la vagina la la la."
And these people claim to be feminists?
Whew, that's not what I recall feminism meaning.

They're psuedo-feminists that run around claiming women to be the superior gender and that all women are entitled to power, when the feminist movement wasn't based on superiority or entitlement but on allowing people to be judged on their character and personality instead of what's between their legs, it seems that her supporters have taken the Bush-style loyalty route.

OK, I get it. Somebody out of this thread is going to come back in a few minutes with the punch-line, right?
On the remote off-chance that I might be speaking to serious people, let me offer a serious observation: It's not too hard for me to understand why it's hard for you to "hold a rational conversation" with your opponents. Or even with your friends.

Rational conversation consisting of something else than "You're a misogynist for not voting for Hillary!" "Reverend Wright! Reverend Wright! Reverend Wright! Reverend Wright!" "Only Hillary is experienced, you're an Obamabot that has can't think for itself!" (Despite the fact that I support Obama based purely on the fact that he's just the lesser of the three evils)
I'm not uncivil or greatly-biased when I try to talk to Hillary supporters about real issues despite my negative views of them, if that's what you're implying. Anyone who critsizes the irrationality of Hillary supporters must be an anti-social lunatic who can't hold conversations right?

I would not be so harsh as to categorize these particular HRC Supporters as "pseudo feminists."
My Sister lives in the Redwood Country of Calfornia State University at Humboldt where the young leftists took over the politics of the town of Arcata in the 1970's and have pretty much controlled it ever since.
What she reports is that her more informed friends have bailed on HRC to Obama, while the less informed women continue to support HRC because they have such fervant hope to put a woman in the White House.
As the Wright non-issue issue shows, the level of the electorate in the U.S. is generally not sophisticated or such "stories" would die the quick death that they deserve in the face of the multitudionous issues that confront our country.
I have women friends in MYC who echo the same analysis that I provided. Many of them are saddened to discover that HRC is far more to the right than progresive because they really wanted a woman in the white House. But they have concluded, "not this time-we will wait until we have a feminist candidate who runs and can win."

Maybe not psuedo-feminist some of them, but you'd agree that the "Any woman will do even if she isn't honestly a better choice" mindset is damaging to the feminist movement?

Me personally. I am not thinking of the feminist or any specific genre.
My take...or beef is with the males and females of opposing supporters that cant get out of their 8th grade middle school mentality.
And they are GROWN human beings.
They are the type of person thats never been disciplined by their parents or punched in the face for something they said, or HOW they said it. And they bring that mentality to the internet and think its cool. Or they at least ACT like it. And thats something I cant condone, tolerate or respect. Respect begets(sp?) respect, and I dont care what country, city, community, family you come from.
P.S. The title "feminist" I have problems with. I dont like lumping people into catergories or titles.
