Clinton Chief Strategist Says $20 Million More Than $40 Million
BY MEGAN ESTES
Courtesy of MrSensible.comBarack Obama raised $40 million for his campaign in March compared to $20 million for Hillary Rodham Clinton, according to contribution totals announced today. In what was surely the most bewildering moment of the campaign thus far, Clinton’s chief strategist Sean Franklin contended in a conference call with reporters that $20 million was more than $40 million.
“For starters, there are more zeros in $20 million than in $40 million,” Franklin said. “And if you spell it out, $20 million has more letters too.”
Pressed on how there were more zeros in $20 million than in $40 million, Franklin argued that the Clinton campaign had the right to put a decimal with two zeros at the end of their figure, while the Obama campaign had no such right to do so.
“And we can do this because we’ve won the big states that Democrats must win in November. California, New York, Ohio, Florida - they’re all ours. When Obama wins an important state like that, he too can put a decimal point and two zeros at the end of his contribution totals.
“But even if he wins that right, $20 million is still more than $40 million.”

Doesn't Hillary do any drug screening before she hires her employees?

She doesn't have to since they have all promised not to inhale.

No! She cannot afford it; she does have to pay Penn, and with or without errors in judgment.

Seems to me HRC needs a drug test and a psychiatric screening...

Folks: This is satire.
If you can not see that he is lampooning all the absurd methods of counting that the Clintons trot out, then you better have your anemic sense of humor on an daily Irony Supplement.

Actually, it's getting harder and harder to tell satire and snark from things that actually come from the Clinton campaign.
Maybe this whole thing is a great comedic production. $200 million dollars, more than one year, and it's just started to peak. The introduction was a bit long, but that's needed to set the stage and get people involved.
It's looking more and more like a tragicomedy. And I'm getting uncomfortbale. I can't wait for the cast to bow out and walk off the stage...

Adds Mark Penn:
"By giving more money to Obama now, voters are signalling a willingness to give more money to Hillary Clinton later. It's really good that they get this whole 'Obama' thing out of their system before the general election."
That was supposed to be a parody but it totally sounds like him, doesn't it?

Yeah, this Obama thing has just been a glorified lap dance before the nation marries Clinton in November. Baby, I'm sorry, I just had to get it out of my system. Yes, I promise you're prettier than him! It meant nothing-- I can't even remember his name.

It gets worse. There are some hints that the Clinton campaign may go after Obama's campaign chest. In a recent interview, Clinton broached the topic, saying, "You know, there is no requirement that the money that Barack raised be spent on his campaign. It doesn't have his name on it."
The Obama campaign quickly replied that the money
does in fact have his name on it. Expecting a full-on assault on its campaign chest, the Obama campaign had previously organized a fund-signing drive. Thousands of kool-aid drinking volunteers decorated the cash with Obama's initials, campaign slogans, and hopeful smiley faces.
Not to be outdone the Clinton campaign organized its own fund-signing drive. In addition to signing the cash with Hillary's initials, her supporters added three zeros to the denominations. With the increased face value of her cash, Sean Franklin says that the Clinton campaign now has $2,000,000,000, considerably more zeros than Obama's $4,000,000 by any count. According to insiders, the Clinton campaign is also considering adding three zeros to her delegate count, which would give her an insurmountable lead at the convention. Developing...

Wait a minute--I donated online! How do I know al the dollars are inscribed with Obama's name?
Anyhow, sure, an unelected/un-nominated candidate can donate leftover money to any campaign or, if I remember right, any charity, at any time.
So, she's trying to scare us--I'm going to win the nomination. Obama will then give all your money to me for the general election. So, by giving money to Obama now you're actually donating money to me later. You don't want me to win, right? So stop giving him money, dammit!

This just in: Hillary Clinton has legally changed her name to Hillary Barack Obama Rodham Clinton. Since they now have her name on them too, she can now make a claim for Mr. Obama's remaining superdelegates and money.
Word from the campaign is that she will change her name to Hillary Rodham Reagan after the convention.

No go. Obama is still one step ahead of her. He legally changed his name to Barack Fuck Off Hillary You Can't Have My Money Or My Delegates And No You Can't Be My VP Either Hussein Obama. He also squared his dollars and his delegates, so he's got something like $1,600,000,000,000,000 and 2,653,641 delegates. She's been outsmarted at every turn. Richardson has again called for her to concede. Howard Dean is still working on something behind the scenes, but no one's really sure what it is.

What if, all this time, Howard Dean has been working tirelessly, behind the scenes, into the long hours of the night, dispassionately and in cold blood, on the great American novel?
A follow-up question: if he then grew a moustache, could he also do a beret? Discuss.

Asked to comment on Obama's 40 mil haul for March,
Ed Rendell said that "you can have too much money" because at some point it "becomes redundant."
I wish I made that up.

But how could you spotthedog?
It takes more than just wishing. You have to be closer to her than that to come up with such!
The truth is that Hillary is actively avoiding raising too much money lest it becomes redundant.

The curse of redundant money. I hope it never happens to me!
Of course, I probably don't have any real worries on that score.
