Clinton and Obama Both Lead McCain in Pledged Delegates

In case people out there are worried about the effects that the long democratic primary will have on the Democratic candidate in the General Election, it's worth remembering that both democrats lead McCain in pledged delegates.

According to CNN, Obama has 1,437 Pledged Delegates, Clinton has 1,278, and McCain has a measly 1,246.  And when you factor in the Super Delegates, it's not even close!

I'm not sure, but I think what this means is that, while Obama will most likely defeat Clinton for the Democratic nomination, Clinton is almost sure to defeat McCain for the Republican nomination.  We could see an Obama vs. Clinton face-off in November!

Wow.

Did you also notice that the republicans have almost 1700 fewer total delegates to their convention than do the democrats?

Sheez

Ladies and gentlemen, the always-reliable Chris Brown.

My apologies, I didn't read your last paragraph.

Though I still think your post is pointless and, like most posts her, pushes useful posts off the list.

Look, I agree with you that the whole post recommendation system is in need of some serious repair. It shouldn't be so hard to find posts, or so easy to push them into oblivion.

That being said, why is "snark" less view-worthy than more "serious" fare? Just because *you* prefer it? Well, I prefer the snark, cause I'm maxed out on information about this election and I don't need to see five more posts about why Obama is unelectable or why Hillary should drop out.

I think, though, that we can both agree that TPM should have a system that lets me post my snark without depriving you of your valuable commentary, and vice versa.

Unfortunately, TPM doesn't seem to be listening to us.

Chris,

We all have different opinions and interest; I, for example, don't think this post is pointless. It gave me a good chuckle!

Even if the recommend system isn't perfect, you can always be your own filter and follow your own path here:

1- You can skip as many posts as you want

2- You can search in the archives through the day's posts and find what interests you -independently of what's listed as recommended.

And while one need not post comments to every blog, it is good practice to read the whole thing before commenting on it...

Chris,

The snark was here:

"I'm not sure, but I think what this means is that, while Obama will most likely defeat Clinton for the Democratic nomination, Clinton is almost sure to defeat McCain for the Republican nomination. We could see an Obama vs. Clinton face-off in November!"

(Last paragraph.)
