Charlie Gibson's War
With regards to Mr. Gibson, one really must decide for themselves whether the man is crazy, ignorant, greedy, evil, reckless, vindictive, or any combination of the above.
This is the new Journalistic Immunity. One day long ago we did not know the political persuasion of our Anchormen whatsoever, but the increasingly perceptive periphery of the Journalism field coupled with the increasing tendency
toward inanity on broadcast television has produced a new standard. The American people once again settle for less; now we merely do not know the motivation of our news personalities.
For instance, is Stephanopoulos ACTUALLY Hannity's puppet? Or some kind of secret RNC Hatchet Man? Or did Hannity KILL Stephanopoulos and somehow wear his skin last night while preventing it's slow decay? Otherwise, said decomposition certainly would have been noticeable what with the HDTVs of the Modern Era--
As for Gibson-- in his old age is he so concerned about his Salary that he let the dollar-signs in his eyes distract him during that long soliloquy on Cap Gains?
Was Stephanopoulos trying to be sarcastic with all of his GW Bush worship, or is this some kind of new gotcha-mind-fuck technique we have never seen before?
So many post-debate questions, and so little of actual importance. Edward R. Murrow is weeping in his grave.

That was a defining moment in American media - the moment when a wealthy network talking head revealed what goes on inside the venal media mind. This wasn't the corporate mind. This was personal.
Which party will do the most to protect the financial interests of the millionaire TV news personalities?
That other party - the one that might increase taxes on capital gains? The American people are very, very troubled by that small-minded bunch pretending they can hunt and bowl and worship and drink. That just doesn't ring true in the labor halls of the iron belt.
The guys down at the hall go out after their shift every night, belly up to the bar, and drink a tall cool one to the real men who have fought and died in the jungles of Asia and the deserts of the Middle East to lower our capital-gains taxes.
