Bush and Cheney Didn't Sing National Anthem at WH Correspondents Dinner
Remember the GOP's flag pin issue against Barack Obama and his not putting his hand over his heart? Well, perhaps some of you noticed that just now during the National Anthem at the White House Correspondents Association Dinner, neither President Bush, Vice President Cheney or Mrs. Bush sang along with the song. Reporters did, but they did not.
I think this video would be a perfect comeback whenever somebody pushes the flag pin issue. Why didn't they sing America's song?

Unfortunately CSPAN cut off the first part of the party. All they show is Bush's speech.
I wonder if anybody can get a copy of the WHOLE party? Anybody?

Louisev: That's exactly how most of us felt with the GOP's and Hillary's attack against Obama about not wearing a pin. NONSENSE! Until 9/11, almost nobody wore one and afterwards, you didn't see Hillary or McCain wearing one.
Nearly 80% of Americans just stand with arms to their sides while a Flag is walked by them in parades or during the national anthem.
Claiming it's UNPATRIOTIC to not wear a pin or put you hand over you heart is just a political ploy -- I'm sure most of us are guilty of not doing either at one time in our lives.
I've even got a picture of Bush with his had over his BELLY during the National Anthem -- geez - IMPEACH HIM NOW!

If anyone thinks that these two clowns even know the words to the national anthem, I've got a nice ocean front property to sell you here in Idaho.

If you squint really hard, the sand dunes almost looks like whales! (Yup, we've got sand dunes).

If fading memory serves, flag lapel pins were used first by the right wing ravers (e.g.,John Mitchell and others of his ilk -- you know--"all the President's men") during the Nixon Administration. This had the desired effect of branding a wearer as being on the "right" side of patriotism, etc. etc.,and the empty lapel types as those who didn't care enough to exhibit their patriotism. It's been appropriated as the wingnut badge ever since.
Sadly, those progressives who would like to reclaim the nation as their own and choose defiantly to wear a flag lapel pin, unfortunately will still be branded as right wing fanatics, who have taken ownership of the flag and such bling.
Maybe somebody can figure out something else to attach to their flag lapel pin, like the "Darwin" lettering,or legs attached to the fish symbols we see on cars of the faithful.
I always wanted to wear a clerical collar, and when well meaning religious people would greet me with a "Good morning,Reverend," smilingly tell them (especially if they were Army Billy Bob chaplains) to go fuck themselves.
Booga! Booga!

What/when was the recent event where Bush or Cheney were cracking highly offensive jokes about not finding WMD's?
I think the DNC ought to use that clip in an ad.
