BREAKING! on cnn.com
If anyone doubts how difficult it will be for Obama to get the media and the rest of our decadent culture to grow the f--- up and start focusing on issues that matter, take a look at what's sharing top billing on CNN's front page with the Wright Nontroversy.
It's the fall of the Roman Empire. I'm getting an ulcer. And this is excellent news for Hillary.

I'll take that story (it's such a cute bear) over another story about Paris or Britney or Nicole Richie any day.
Baby steps, north_aufzoo, baby steps.

Upon further review, I have concluded that that video is in fact adorable, and I feel as though I should make clear that I do not lay the blame for the debasement of our political culture at the paws (awwww) of an innocent cub.

I have to admit, I'm with Mr. Hocking. If the MSN would just content itself with showing "all baby bears -- all the time" I would be content.
They would certainly be improving in content, accuracy in reporting, relevence, and intelligence.
Yes: All Baby Bears. All the Time.
I like it.

We may not have a All Baby Bears Channel just yet, but one soothing television option is already sort of available for your viewing pleasure:

After seeing "The Puppy Channel" I have completely lost faith in this country and humanity itself.

Simply because you kool aid drinkers do not see the Wright controversy as an actual controversy does not make it the case that it is not one.
Whether you like it or not, many Americans are disturbed by the idea of having a president who had a pastor of 20 years like Wright.

There are at least 20 other blogs dedicated to Wright. This one is now dedicated to bears, dogs, and possibly other furry animals.

I'm not saying that the Wright issue is not an "actual controversy"-- I'm saying it is a stupid one; one that distracts us from issues that people live and die by. I hope my post made biliously clear that I'd much rather be debating and taking action on the Iraq war, climate change and other environmental issues, the labor movement, the housing crisis, the economy and wealth inequality, health care, racism and segregation, sexism and heterosexism, our educational system, our prison-industrial system, the consolidation of the media, the state of our cities... should I go on?

...and adorable fuzzy animals. (Thanks for the reminder, Ben.)

Oh absolutely. I too would love to have our nation focused on these things instead, but since we are considering who will be the leader of our country, the one that will bear significant responsibility in guiding us in the right direction on said issues, I think it is important that we choose a competent leader.
Issues that attest to one's character, like Wright which I do not believe Obama has yet to sufficiently explain (and I believe this is because he cannot) are therefore important.

So close.

So, what you're saying is that any explanation would be insufficient, because such an explanation would be impossible? What, then, would Obama have to do to satisfy you that his choice of churches doesn't disqualify him to be commander in chief?

I fail to see what's wrong here. The video clearly shows that the bear is, in fact, sleepy. There's absolutely no question about it: CNN got this one right.
And they deserve credit for that.

CNN is showing it's also fair and balanced. Little sleepy bear balances out Nic Robertson's report on The Interrogators. Wouldn't want to go overboard with too much video on the war, torture, troop funerals, dead Iraqis, nuclear Iran, country rebuilding fraud, not to mention a host of anti-American sentiment or domestic travesties.
Where is that little bear? CNN doesn't say and the surroundings that it's in look horrible. Plus it looks like it has a small sore under it's neck from maybe being on a chain. I'm a pet wellness and anti-abuse advocate and maybe I'm just looking for something that's not there.
