As a "Citified" New Yorker, I am a Real American

Just to note that the 2000 census counted 222,360,539 Americans living in Urban areas and 59,061,367 living in Rural areas. I'm the average friggin' American, dang it.

Damn right.

Yeah, I think that political lingo has gotten out of hand in terms of them talking about "real Americans". A perfect example is basically anything that Joe Scarborough says on MSNBC. He is constantly talking about real Americans and what their values are like and then references the "Redneck Riviera" (his words) of the Florida panhandle as real America.

Most people these days live in cities or suburbs of cities. It's not that I want them to call us "real Americans" and not those in rural communities but we are all real Americans, aren't we?
