98.2 % Historians Rank Bush's Presidency a FAILURE
This is interesting news.
HNN Poll: How Historians Rank the Presidency of George W. Bush (2008)
In an informal survey of 109 professional historians conducted over a three-week period through the History News Network, 98.2 percent assessed the presidency of Mr. Bush to be a failure while 1.8 percent classified it as a success.
Of 415 historians who expressed a view of President Bush’s administration to this point as a success or failure, 338 classified it as a failure and 77 as a success.

Only 77 of those historians are actually from Yale.

Bad arithmetic, decimal in the wrong place. Its 81.5% failure to 18.5% success. One always wonders in the surveys what the 77 who rate the presidency a success are thinking of. His Lincolnesque resolve, I suppose.

Actually, that tiny minority is thinking of their future cushy jobs with Heritage Foundation and their eventual status as Serious scholars.

Two different sets of numbers.
Three week period: 109 historians, 2 of which label Bush's presidency as a success. (1.8%)
Overall ("to this point"): 415 historians, 77 of which label Bush's presidency as a success. (18.6%)

Those 77 historians are the Russian, Chinese, Iranian and North Korean historians. Bush 43 has worked out great for them.
