WTF? Bill Clinton on Rush Limbaugh Show Day of TX Primary
More of the scorched earth strategy:
Bill Clinton on Rush Limbaugh Show Day of Texas PrimaryEIB Guest Host While Rush Is "Sick" 3/4/2008 Mark Davis of WBAP Dallas/Ft. Worth Link for March 4 show
Mark Interviews Bill Clinton (not kidding) on the Rush Limbaugh Show
Ex-President Clinton Talks to WBAP's Mark DavisRush was saying the day before that he felt a "flu" coming on, and then Tuesday he was "sick" and had the substitute host, and then Wednesday he was back to crow about his achievement in getting Hillary elected.
(WBAP) - Still campaigning for his wife on a critical primary election day, Ex-President Bill Clinton told
WBAP's Mark Davis that he believes Hillary Clinton will defeat Democratic rival Barack Obama on Tuesday.

Voting for Hillary - the GOP Strategy in Ohio and Texas
Edward B. Foley Director, Election Law at Law Moritz College of Law advises that
Blogs at both the Plain Dealer and Dispatch are reporting Republican cross-over votes in the Democratic candidate for Senator Clinton on the ground that she would be an easier nominee for Senator McCain to beat. It is unclear how widespread this phenomenon is and whether, if calculable, could make a difference in either the statewide total popular vote or the awarding of delegates between Senators Clinton and Obama. There is also the question whether it is legal, and if not, whether it is remediable in any way....
Rush Limbaugh: In the days running up to these last primaries, Rush Limbaugh told his national audience of conservatives to vote for Hillary Clinton
I want Hillary to stay in this, Laura. This is too good a soap opera. We need Barack Obama bloodied up politically, and it's obvious that the Republicans are not going to do it and don't have the stomach for it, as you probably know. We're getting all kinds of memos from the RNC, saying we're not going to be critical there. Mark McKinnon of McCain's campaign says he'll quit if they get critical over Obama. This is the presidency of the United States we're talking about. I want our party to win. I want the Democrats to lose. They're in the midst of tearing themselves apart right now. It is fascinating to watch, and it's all going to stop if Hillary loses. So, yeah, I'm asking people to cross over and, if they can stomach it -- I know it's a difficult thing to do, to vote for a Clinton, but it will sustain this soap opera, and it's something I think we need. It would be fun, too.

Surely he was on there to confront Limbaugh about those references to the White House dog that he made regarding Chelsea Clinton a few years back. no?

What I can't stomach is Bill Clinton going on Rush Limbaugh's show to give a wink and a nod to Rush's crossover strategy, with hardcore right-wing Republicans voting for Hillary in order to hurt the Democrats and helping John McCain.

I already posted this herehere, but its great to keep pointing out just how far the Clintons are going.

The Limbaugh Crossover Vote is the untold story of March 4th in Texas.
The guy signing in for Obama behind me was wearing a Limbaugh University t-shirt. He felt bad that he couldn't follow Rush's direction, but he was afraid this would be his one chance to vote against Hillary. He didn't want to blow it. So he's the Limbaugh Lover with Self-Respect.
This, btw, was in Austin.

Stupid remark about the frontrunner settling for being his wife's VP = newsworthy.
Going on Rush's show to help him undermine the integrity of the March 4th vote = crickets.

Right.
And let's not forget how much mileage this campaign got out of their "Obama loves Reagan," "Obama loves Republicans" theme.
WTF???

9% of TX Dem primary voters self-identified as Republicans. They went 53-46 for Obama.
Perhaps more revealingly, those identifying themselves as very conservative, 7% of Dem primary voters, went 58-42 for Clinton, somewhat conservative, 15% of Dem primary voters, went 50-46 for Clinton.
Those who said the economy is excellent or good went 55-40 for Clinton.

WTF? Bill Clinton on Rush Limbaugh Show Day of TX Primary.
Miss Roslin, why are you surprised? You did know that Rush is now a co-campaign chair for HilLIEary didn't you? Rush and the Repubs know HRC stealing the nomination is their last, best hope for keeping a Repub in the White House.

The proof is in the pudding. Hillary cannot win. As much as I've heard it bandied about, playing with Slate's Delegate Calculator brings it home: Hillary simply will not be able to get ahead of Obama in pledged delegates unless Obama makes some kind of devastating mistake to hurt himself.
However, Obama will still need super delegates to get him to 2,025, so from here out he must work to get his pledged delegate lead over her as healthy as possible to make the will-of-the-voters case as clear as possible to the super delegates.
The best case scenario I can make out is to win by around 200 pledged delegates. By giving Hillary PA and WV, and giving the rest to Obama (using the margins we've seen so far) he could get to around 1,700 to her 1,500. That would be a fine and clear result for him to achieve:

I thought this was comedic, but apparently it isn't.
Two things: Rush called Chelsea Clinton the "white house dog."
And McCain said, at a Republican fund-raiser in 1998, "Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno."
I can't imagine how the Clintons rationalize cozying up to either Rush or McCain.
Triangulation, I guess.

Jebus. I've been an Obama fan for awhile, but always thought either he or Hillary would be a fine nominee/president. I always admired her for her guts and smarts. However, the more I watch the level to which the Clintons will stoop to get this nomination, the more disgusted I become.

Join the crowd.
Are folks in Mississippi and Pennsylvania paying attention?
The problem is Hillary wins the uninformed, uneducated and people working two jobs, none of whom know much about politics.
Probably the same folks who brought us Bush, the guy who was fun to have a beer with. (The irony is, he's really the guy who ends up shipping their sons home in bodybags, and sold their jobs out overseas)

You expected the Clintons to behave ethically?
The Clintons are all about the Clintons,
always have been and always will be. The only
way to rid ourselves of them on the national
stage is to elect Obama in 2008 and 2012.
And no VP spot for her, either.

I will never understand why Democrats cannot seem to cut the Clinton's loose.
Democrats: these two have shafted you REPEATEDLY, on nearly every issue, and at every opportunity, for YEARS.
When the hell do you wise up? Had enough Clinton? What's it gonna take?
There's no cure for stupid, I guess.

Something else nobody seems to point out when talking about Hillary's tactics: Her hubby Bill is a good friend of George H.W. Bush. That's not merely an acquaintance, but a GOOD FRIEND. I doubt that Bush 41 would throw the game for the repubs, but I wouldn't doubt that he threw in a few tactics to Bill about how to campaign.

Hey, how about something else no one seems to point out? Like the fact that Clinton was interviewed on Davis's show, then Davis replayed the interview when he guest hosted for Rush? I realize that's not as satisfying to you as another ginned up Clinton outrage. It just happens to be true. Guess you'll have to just come up with another scholarly post based on Internet rumors.

I guess Bill Clinton should go on MSNBC, Randy Rhodes, CNN, Huffington Post and get some real unbiased coverage. As a Clinton backer, I will be very enthusatic to back Obama should he be nominated. What I can't figure out is the almost irrational hate for Hillary Clinton from the MSM. I can't wait for Hillary to win the primary and the general election and she won't have to kiss anyones ass on the left!!!!!!!!!1

ChrisO,
What you say about this incident being a replay of a recording made during the guest host's show -- not an actual appearance on the Limbaugh show -- seems to check out.
