Why I like Barack Obama more than Hillary Clinton
There are a number of reasons, including that I think he is more likely to beat McCain, and I think his style is more suitable for a president. The most important thing of all, though, may well go back to something Molly Ivins used to say: "You got to dance with them what brung you."
Both campaigns have raised huge amounts of money. Both have some large contributors, but Obama has far more small contributors. If politicians are beholden to their contributors—and I for one do not doubt Ivins' words—then Obama will have more "ordinary people" both to answer to, and to speak for.

I agree with all these reasons to like Barack Obama more than Hillary Clinton.
Also, he bookmarked my website.

He made me a MIX TAPE? Really? Wow, that takes effort. CDs and playlists are easy, but a mix tape...that's devotion. It's so easy to love him!

I like Obama because the man is damn smart and can provide leadership on the war and economy. A true world leader.

And he LISTENS. Can you think of a single politician who just LISTENS? I got to see him at a town hall (shortly after he won his senate seat), and the one thing that really stood out is that he listened and answered every question posed to him, without going off on some lame, self-promoting tangent. It was in a very RED county in Central Illinois and I remember the farmers leaving saying, "this guy's gotta run for President." So glad he is...

Mention is made of HIlary's exaggeration of her 'experience' and experiences of her exaggerations. I have come to the opinion that HC believes she has had the same experiences as her husband, that, in an important, experiential (or existential) sense, she was president for 8 years. Like the sympathetic pregnancies of first time fathers, this syndrome is not new. However, HC takes it to a new level; she's been 'fired upon' and can take 'lead armies' but not 'bake cookies'. She's really good at looking the other way when Bill was not being president, governor or law student who couldn't find a job.
I say if we want experience of the presidency, we ought to consider Monica L. as she had more (evidently) than HC

Obama I can take or leave like most motivational speakers. But it's this kind of shit...
I say if we want experience of the presidency, we ought to consider Monica L. as she had more (evidently) than HC.
...from his supporters that makes me realize I'd never want to be associated in any way with this band of punks. F'em.

That's lousy, no question. But, I guess it helps to consider where such comments come from. A lot of dems supported Bill after the scandal even though we all took a beating for it, and eight years (and one heck of a Dubya, and his experienceless staff) later we're cynical and doubtful of what politicians claim.
At the same time they see Obama saying and doing something different, and they want THAT at all costs. Even if the means are completely counter to the ends that Obama speaks of. But it sort of makes sense that folks who are completely disillusioned by Clinton I and Bush II lump Hillary into all that and then lash out at people who support her when this new thing they've worked hard for is under threat. Snarks like the one you quoted is that person's way of saying, "I never want to be associated with this band of punks. F'em."
It's all the same sentiment, but from different perspectives. And, I don't think it's ever acceptable to say these things.
Which is why I like TPM - you get a nice mix of all perspectives and it keeps things healthy and open and eventually you sift through the cynicism and snarking to the nuggets of truth. Or you run face first into Sinbad and his slogan writer, Idiotic.
