TPM Reader DS says...
Many Clinton supporters find the current attempts to muscle her out of the race despicable. Maybe now is the time for Obama to take one for the team and accept her offer of the VP slot.
Fascinating, isn't it? The guy in the lead should accept the 2nd place slot "for the team." What universe does that even make sense in? Hillaryland, I assume?

Just goes to show that for Hillary it isn't about anything but Hillary.

Yeah its silly. Plus, why is Josh posting this? I assume to highlight the ridiculousness of it. If it is so ridiculous, maybe he should say so. Give us your thoughts Josh!
Also, people talk about arrogance. This is arrogance. Asking the leading candidate to take second place when you are in second place is retarded. Its like telling Carl Lewis to slow up a little.

Here's what was quoted on the front page by Josh:
"Many Clinton supporters find the current attempts to muscle her out of the race despicable. Maybe now is the time for Obama to take one for the team and accept her offer of the VP slot. It is the position he is better qualified for, would end a situation that is supposedly hurting the party, and would put him in a better position to run next time. Clinton has no “next time,” so it makes more sense for Obama to be the one to step aside. If the convention is held too late in the election cycle for the presidential nominee to campaign effectively, perhaps the date of the convention needs to be changed. The solution cannot be for viable candidates to set aside their ambitions long before a nominee has been clearly chosen."
This has to be a troll. In which case, excellent!
In the frightening event that it isn't, and in the far more frightening event that there are a significant number of Clinton supporters capable of such thinking, then may God truly bless America -- before kissing its ass good-bye.

It seems like Hillary has wised up a little in the past month or so--with her new scrappy fighter routine, she's not acting as though she is owed the nomination any more. It's too bad that many (?) of her supporters haven't displayed the same sort of growth as their candidate. There's something more than a little ridiculous about this continued insistence that (paraphrasing) "It's Hillary's turn so just give it to her already!" Almost as ridiculous as DS's implication that (paraphrasing) "We've got Obama right where we want him. Now just take your foot off our neck and so you can accept our gracious offer of a VP slot."

Hillary and her husband are poisoning the Democratic party well every chance they get, and her supporters want him to do something for the good of the party?
Is this the bargaining part of the grief stages?

de spic a ble (adj.)
1. worthy of contempt for asking someone who has no path to the nomination that doesn't involve destroying one's party to drop out of the race
2. worthy of scorn for asking others to realize the simple arithmetical reality of a situation
As they say, denial ain't just a river in Egypt.

Josh is playing Spock to the alien life form that is HRC supporters. "Fascinating," indeed!

There probably won't be a next time for me either, so why don't they give me the nomination, and then I'll make Obama my VP. Kay?

So - Clinton won't have an opportunity to run again - so Obama should "take one for the team" and take the VP slot. He's in the lead, and he should just drop out since poor Hillary can't run again...
Wouldn't that be treating her like..."a girl"? Isn't she supposed to be a feminist? Shouldn't we treat her as an equal? I guess not, we should protect her fragile feelings and make she gets what she deserves, the Presidency of the United States. Because it's her turn...
That's just ridiculous.
BTW - I'm a woman, and I'm getting really sick of Clinton supporters who whine and moan about sexism, and insist that feminists should support Clinton, and that she should get our vote because she's a woman, and then she (well, her husband) turns around and complains - "those boys are so mean, picking on a girl". Bulls**t. Feminism means equal rights - treat me the same as a man would be treated in the same position. So - Bill - if Hillary want's to play politics - she needs to strap on the helmet and pads and prepare to be clipped - just like any of the boys.
