The Imploding Democratic Party?

Josh
got this one just about right. Emotional infantilism, indeed. As
someone who has been guilty of this very thing, I am glad Josh is
calling us all on our bullshit. I am heavily invested emotionally,
mentally, financially, and physically in the Obama campaign. My first
knee-jerk reaction to some of the other reader posts who are looking
for a fight on the convention floor is to bring that fight. I'll be
Denver, and if there is going to be a fight, I'll fight hard. I won't
be able to help myself.

Democrats have the best chance we have had in decades of
transforming the government, and it may all disappear as the party
turns on itself. What is very sad about this all, is that I may end up
being partly responsible.

I agree that Josh got it exactly right; but, please, the democratic party is not going to implode because of the primary campaign.

Really, in terms of historical primary campaigns this democratic campaign has been relatively tame.

Remember the 2000 republican primary Bush campaign SC whispering campaign about McCain?

Relax. Let the process run its course.

I think Josh has missed something here. I don't think the issue is how close the two candidates are on matters of public policy. His allusion to 1968 is correct, but his conclusion is not.

The dynamic here, like it or not, is one of civil war within the party. One candidate is fighting for control of the Democratic Party; the other is fighting to bring the country back from the brink of destruction and return the Constitution to the people.

Infintilism or not, it is what's happening, and the only possible hope for both the party and the country is for Hillary to step aside now.

I doubt that this will happen, and even if it does, it may be too late. The cruel irony of civil war is that no matter which side wins, both sides lose.
