The easiest way to show the candidates´ knowledge of international affairs

avatar

The easiest way to show the candidates´ knowledge of international affairs would be an open debate, with no pre-agreed, pre-euphemized questions.

Isn´t there a journalist, a network, or any organization in the US capable of calling up the three candidates for a truly open debate?  A pannel could screen video questions sent by citizens, to select the most relevant, poignant, significant, difficult questions for the candidates. And I suppose the candidate that does not show up will, in fact, be sending a message anyway.

My guess is that in such a debate Hillary would fare best, followed by Obama. McCain would do pretty badly, revealing his lack of grasp for strategic issues and also some very worrying memory slips.
