I think Joe was just having a bit of fun.
Because I'm sure everyone realizes that when you have a woman and an African American in the race that it probably won't look too good to, I dunno, replace them both with a white guy who isn't even running.

I doubt it. But I guess it depends on the meaning of the word "fun."

Al Gore is not a good option, but he's a good "threat".
As in, if Clinton's plan is to keep smearing Obama to make him unelectable, instead of making herself look better vs. McCain, it WOULD go to Gore.
And it's all within the rules, so all the yelling about FL and MI, caucuses and what have you, will amount to nothing.
