Open Letter to Campaign Hillary

Dear Campaign for Hillary,

As it seems the campaign is changing its narrative on a weekly basis, I would like to suggest something for the next version. Try giving reality a chance.

1) You agreed before any votes were cast that FL and MI would not have any delegates seated. Those two states never had the opportunity to meet Barack Obama, and MI didn't even have his name on the ballot. Those two pseudo-primaries were nothing more than a name-recognition test. Yet, now that you are losing, you are arguing that the voters of FL and MI are disenfranchised and that the pseudo-primaries were fair. Fair? How can I cast a vote for someone who shows such a lack of intellectual honesty?

2) Arguing that Hillary is better than Obama because she won NY and CA is ridiculous. You really think that historically blue states will vote for McCain over Obama? All the available evidence suggests that Obama will win NY and CA in a general election vs. McCain. Arguing otherwise makes you look irrational and divorce from reality--in other words, it makes Hillary look like W. Bush.

3) Pushing the media-bias story has made your most rabid fans foam at the mouth, but does nothing to persuade people who don't already support Hillary to do so more. The race- and sex-baiting that the Hillary campaign has engaged in, while simultaneously accusing the Obama campaign of doing so, makes you look delusional. Especially when, in the days leading up to March 4th, the media covered the Hillary campaign almost exclusively--no doubt having some influence on the March 4th results. The media has been rough on Hillary, but the media has also allowed her to float her "experience" argument without question. We all know that there isn't much in that balloon, and that it could pop with a single pointed question.

4) Including the votes from MI and FL in your count of "popular vote" is dishonest and divorced from reality. It is yet another example of behavior that makes you look delusional.

5) Stop assuming that Obama's supporters will vote for Hillary if she manages to finagle the Democratic nomination. Putting your fund-raisers to work as bribery agents of the DNC is offensive and highly unethical. I suppose I should thank you for doing so, as it shows Hillary's true colors (win at all costs). It will make it easier for me to decide to vote for McCain if Hillary does, by some back-handed way, steal the nomination.

If you wish to earn hearts and minds, you need to start speaking truth. Your illogicaly, delusional, and ridiculous claims only serve to persuade me and voters like me that Hillary simply cannot be entrusted with the highest office this country offers.

Cordially,

stYMied

I don't know what Hillary can do now. Last summer, I would have gladly voted for her. Two months ago, no problem. Now? She has shown me just exactly what she will do to gain power, and it is ugly indeed. If I wanted to vote for a negative campaigner, a dirty trickster, a divisive politician who doesn't care how much damage she does to our country, I'd be a Republican.

There is only one reason that I would vote for her in November...SCOTUS seats. Other than that, I see no advantage of a Clinton vs. a McCain Presidency.

I've changed my mind too. I did more research on the Clintons and confirmed they're also backed by the same power elite as Bush. For heaven's sake, Murdoch is backing her! She has voted with *them* on almost every issue, she's going to come out of the closet like Lieberman after November.

Politics aside, is she really more competent, a "real" CEO compared to Bush? Look at her campaign burning through the cash and totally caught off guard by an underdog pulling ahead from way behind.

I'm appalled how she's padded her resume, taking credit for other people's work. The SCHIP flap and Northern Ireland come to mind.

Anyhow, if you're a fan of Matt Taibbi, you might enjoy these:

Dear Hillary, until you admit that Obama is better in every way, I could never vote for you. Please don't be ridiculous and 'fess up, even if for a lying bitch it would probably cause your eyes to pop out. Love, The Other Side

Do we need to call her a bitch? Is that really necessary? Do you think that helps Obama?

I'm an Obama supporter, but when I hear/read people calling Clinton a bitch, I cringe. It only makes our job of convincing the Hillary supporters to back Obama in the general harder.

He's not an Obama supporter and there is not much that could change that from what I've read of his posts.

Desidero is a Clinton suyporter. (Click on his name to read his -- I assume it's a he -- his many other pro-Clinton posts.)

Posing as an offensively sexist Obama supporter, just to stir up trouble. Shame on you!

stYMied -

I agree with a ton of what you are saying here - the Clinton campaign seems to have lost touch with the reality-based community - and like Bushco - seems to be trying to create it's own reality

"It will make it easier for me to decide to vote for McCain if Hillary does, by some back-handed way, steal the nomination."

What a great Democrat you are. I wouldnt be surprised if you voted for Nader in 2000.

Well, why be loyal to a woman who isn't loyal to her own party? At least McCain is up front about the fact that he's a republican. Clinton is a Repub in Dem's clothing.

Why are you assuming that I'm a Democrat at all? What does it mean to be a Democrat these days? What does it mean to be Independent? What does it mean to be Republican?

Why can't reasonable people rely on *gasp* reason, rather than a clouded ideology or irrational devotion to the color Blue or Red?

Obama is the most intellectually honest, most reasonable, most reality-based candidate of the three. That is why he received my vote, my monetary donations, and my support.

If Hillary finagles the nomination from him, it will be difficult for me to decide between voting for McCain or writing in Obama. I simply can't support Hillary at this point in time.

As for the SCOTUS argument: there is no evidence that Hillary will nominate better/different judges than John McCain will. They have almost the same voting record in congress.

Why do people see things in such a partisan light? Everyone has the right to vote for whomever they want, and if Hillary just isn't good enough for stYMied, then it's his right to cast his vote however he pleases. It almost seems that people discourage independent political thought in this country- why do you think we have all those pundits telling us what to think?

Political change cannot come about in this country as long as people vote their parties instead of their convictions. As long as people vote for the "lesser of two evils," we will always end up with evil. At least stYMied has the courage of his convictions, which tell him that Hillary is the worst candidate in the race. At least McCain has stood by his convictions (for the most part), even defying Bush when the rest of the Republican party would not do so. I can't see Hillary doing anything that courageous or honorable, and I know many people (perhaps stYMied) see things the same way.

So back off the independent voters. They are what will decide this election, and alienating them from voting Democratic is not in yours or Hillary's interest.

Querty, I hope your research also showed that Bill Clinton has sat down with Richard Mellon Scaife, the man who bankrolled years of digging into Clinton's past, including Whitewater. As a Christian, I'm all for forgiveness, but I find this highly suspicious. Likewise, Hillary's willingness to allow Rupert Murdoch to fundraise for her.

I want to know why all the exaggeration about her experience has not gotten any further than the blogs, very frustrating. Every negative about Barrack does.

We have stardust in our eyes, and have fallen into the pied piper syndrome.

If we are foolish enough to remain in this state of awe, and actually nominate Obama, be he "black"
as he has chosen to be or "multi-racial" as he actually is , the dem's will unite and do their utmost to put him in the WH.

However; the GOP will never let him in the WH, at least not thru the front door.

Even if they have to take it to the supreme court,
ala G. W. Bush.
absolutly non-electable

You have no evidence for that assertion.
