Nixon Was A Motherf**ker!
In the Seventies, a black leader gave an anti-war speech in which he called Richard Nixon a motherf**ker. I believe the speech was published in the Evergreen Review, but I haven't been able to find it.
The speech asked the question: What do you call a man who tricks your son into going into a farmer's yard and stealing watermelons if the farmer kills your son?
The point to the speech was that political correctness is used by the dominant culture to stifle emotion. That sometimes words like motherf**ker are the only words that can express your anger, and, by denying us the use of the words, the establishment denies us a legitimate way to express our rage.
If anyone can furnish a link to that speech or provide any information on how I can find it, I'd appreciate the help.

Do you plan to endorse Rev. Wright's emotional speech? It was surely not inhibited by political correctness.

As what? An authentic expression of rage? I sure do.

Hey Billy, what's with the butch-fag photo? Who you tryin' to hook-up with?
That, along with your political stupidity, really makes me wish that TPM had one of those "ignore this person" links.
Dig?

You know, I disagree with Billy constantly, but this can be done without epithet. Besides, that's Kyle Reese. He was sent from the future to save you from robots by protecting Sarah Connor and fathering her child. So, please, show the proper respect.

As usual, I'm with you on this one DF.
What I would like to know is whether John Conner knew that he was sending his best friend back in time to become his father.
Is this something that John and Sarah never discussed?
Did John have to keep this secret from his friend? Did he send him away with a parting: "Dude, you're gonna be really hot for my mom. And I'm okay with that. You're my best friend. It's all love, Bra!"
Did he use reverse psychology? "Listen, before you go, there's one more thing. Keep things with you and my mom strictly professional, okay? This is a business trip and the future of the revolution, no, Humankind... depends on it... Via con dios, man..."
Did he just not bring it up for fear of altering the future, Michael J. Fox style?
These are the issues I want the candidates to address...

Hmm.. very pertinent questions. I've always assumed that John knew what he was doing when he sent Reese back, but didn't say anything about it to Reese. It's also always been my guess that Sarah pretty much kept the details to herself. They were always pretty good about avoiding the time paradox situation in the Terminator films. I'd have to go back and watch T3 to see if they fleshed any of that out. I have to admit, I didn't pay much attention to it.
If you really want to flip your wig over questions of time travel, find a copy of Shane Carruth's Primer. It's easily one the most well thought out sci-fi films I've ever seen.

This speaker was arrested immediately:
"Richard Nixon is an evil man. This is the motherfucker that unleashed the counter- insurgent teams upon the Black Panther Party."
David Hilliard (BPP), at the 1969 Moratorium.
Have fun with it, but be fair.

Of course I will. But that's not the one. One I'm looking for may be a little later. The last BP I met was doing diversity training for the City of Seattle.
