McCain defends Obama
Don't recommend this post, follow this link: http://tpmcafe.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/2008/03/john-mccain-supports-obama-on.php and recommend that one. It fell off the end of the "recent posts" list without making to the "recommended posts" list.
Watch the video. See McCain show more class in defending Obama regarding Wright than you'll ever see from Hillary. And right in Hannity's face.
"I do know Senator Obama, and he does not share those views."
If you agree that this was a classy response from McCain, the sort of response one might hope Obama would get from Democratic rivals more readily than from GOP opponents, follow the link to neoprufrok's post, and recommend it so that it gets the attention it deserves.

Yeah, I'm not sure why it didn't gain traction. Maybe no one wants to see McCain support Obama?

McCain has his own preacher problem, having sought the endorsements of two who are just as hateful (in very selective highlights) as Wright.
If he criticizes Obama, the press will surely be prompted by the Obama campaign to revisit those McCain endorsements and ask the usual "Do you reject, repudiate, disavow, condemn blankety-blank?" Here McCain will have a dilemma. The maverick side of him will need to reject for the sake of independent voters. The conservative side of him will have to avoid rejecting for the sake of his evangelical supporters. It's hard to reject someone you solicited.
