I'm surprised to not hear from Obama on the finance crisis

avatar

Just responding to TPM Reader SW.

I am appalled, though not surprised, at the complete silence by the
candidates on the last few days' events on Wall Street and the world's
stock, bond and currency markets.... What about Obama? Is he not up to the task of educating people about
what the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act did to the markets many Americans poured their retirement and college savings into?
I'd really like to hear from him, and I'm confused as to why I'm not. It really is surprising. It's not like the country isn't noticing this stuff. Are candidates not allowed to talk about events that touch on substantive issues?
